
Both of my parents were physically handicapped, so I grew up with caregivers in my home and saw the difference a good one can make. They enabled my folks to stay in the home and raise me. I originally went into the field because I wanted to give some of that back. It also had the advantage of a somewhat flexible schedule that worked around raising my own family. I am currently enrolled in Chippewa Valley Technical College as a pre-program nursing student. I will soon be cpr certified and by December 2014, I will also have my C.N.A. certification as well. I hope to be a Registered Nurse as soon as possible. Beyond the daily care of my own parents for over 30 years, I have 2 years experience doing in home elderly care. It's been awhile, but I know I can step right back into it. I have (mostly) raised my family and it was time to make some changes for the better, so I decided to see if I could get into college. I am proud that I was able to get perfect scores on 2 of the 3 tests required, and proud that I am entering into a career that I feel like makes a difference.
