Hey there, My name is Melody DeGrave and I live in Green Bay. I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant/LPN. I previously worked as a CNA for 7 years in Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Rehab facilities and Disabled homes. I have been a nurse for 5 years at Aurora Healthcare working as a float nurse in OB/GYN, behavioral health, pediatrics, family practice and internal medicine. I recently started a new position with St Elizabeth hospital in the heart and lung unit. I previously took care of a paraplegic man in his home for 3 years with a hoyer lift. I would go to his home every morning before work and give him a shower/ get him ready for the day and give him any meds or apply any topicals he may have needed. I loved doing this, I am capable and I am more than willing to help where help is needed. I currently work Monday-Thursday 830:430. I would be willing to help any times outside of those hours. I have been a caregiver for five years. The thing that keeps me motivated to do my job is knowing that I am making a difference in someone's live. I love to be able to help others when/where I can. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the bonds that are created with my clients and I. I learn a lot about a ton of different people and I always enjoy listening to stories about their lives. I am proud that I have learned patience doing this job.
