When my mother was ill, I was the one she would call to make her scrambled eggs. I took her to the swimming pool and hot tub to get exercise and relaxation. I cut her hair, took her to doctor's appointments and then lunch, and generally gave her some companionship. As I dusted her knickknacks, she told me where each was from. Mom died in 2002. When dad was ailing, some of my family tried to move him into assisted living, but he wanted to stay in his own home. I gave up my apartment and moved in with him, while working in publishing during the day. We had a great time together for a year and a half. Just after he died, I lost my job because I had spent too much time with dad. That evening, the daughter of a neighbor I'd assisted over the years called me, asking if I could help her mother. That began years of caregiving in which I have helped people stay in their homes, and enjoy life. I've brought my keyboard and played hymns and popular songs, singing with them and laughing. As a caregiver, I am simply happy to help my people stay in their own familiar setting. I believe the way I interact with them makes them happy. And my cooking makes them extremely happy! I built my cooking experience on my mom's, then learned to cook for fewer than 8 people! I edited three "Taste of the Country" cookbooks, working with a professional dietician who taught me many ways to fit dietary needs while providing tasty food.

Hello, I am Becca. I am married and 4 beautiful kids. I am a hard worker and very compassionate about my job. I am a great caregiver because I love taking care of people. It probably all started when I was about 13 years old and I took care of my great great aunt. I used to help my grandma ( which was a nurse) take care of my aunt. My grandma thought that I needed to take care of people when I was older since she told me that I was so good at it. So that's exactly what I have been doing. The most thing I like about being a caregiver is that the people I take of. I love hearing their stories and hearing about their life; it's so fascinating. My personal achievement is that I get along with the tougher clients ; when everyone else seems to think they are mean or hard to do; it seems like I can do it I love the challenge you could say.

I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. I enjoy taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. Its essential that a caregiver feel the desire to want to help by showing empathy and compassion,I let my patient know I care about them I do what I can to help, not because I have to but because I want to im patient reliable and trustworthy. Caregivjng in itself is a huge personal accomplishment and im proud of my resourcefulness,flexibility and determination even with a difficult patient caregiving can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
