I believe that in this line of work, you need to have a strong passion for helping the individuals that you serve. Without having that passion, you will have a very hard time being successful. Over the past 7 years, I have put all of my time into serving others. I have worked direct care throughout, moving up the chain of command. Now that I am near the top of the hierarchy, I feel that I have lost a sense of why I even started working in this field to begin with, getting caught up with the day to day management duties. I began working in healthcare because of my drive to help. Having a child has only fueled my drive to a max. I have chosen to step down from my upper management position to return to the core of why I began this journey to begin with. I can say with ease, I too have that passion.
