My name is April and I've been a caregiver for 11 years. I enjoy what I do! It's rewarding to me. When I was 10, my grandpa became sick and we took care of him in our home. I remember sitting in his bed playing cards with him. I also remember providing direct care for him when my mom couldn't. Maybe this is why I became a CNA, it's in my blood.:) While working in a nursing home, the residents become your family. They see us almost every day and look forward to seeing us, as I look forward to seeing them too. It's so rewarding to see the smile on their face when I walk in their room. It brings me joy, to see your loved one happy and smiling.
