I have experience in Palliative, Alzheimers, Parkinsins, Cancer, end of life, and Companion care. I became an educated caregiver after taking care of my father, sister, and grandmother in their final stages. It showed me the need for experienced, thoughtful, and caring people in the lives of not just the sick/ elderly, but also their families during that time. My name is Savannah. I have been working in this field for almost 7 years now. I absolutely love everything about it! One thing I've realized about working with the elderly is you have to have the heart for it. This is not a job that you just come to earn a paycheck. All of my clients and residents became so much more to me than just someone I work for. They became my family. I never had much of a family growing up. So to have a job where I can work with people that love and appreciate everything I do for them means the world to me. I love giving and helping people who can no longer do for themselves anymore. I am a great caregiver because I have over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the Certified Nurse Assistant career. I love to work with clients and provide them responsible and excellent care. I have experience working in private home health, hospitals, nursing homes, and agencies. I am trained to perform multiple medical procedures if they are required. I have always been comfortable working with nurses and doctors so that clients get the best care possible. I extensive knowledge on working with the elderly population, and knowledgeable with hospital computer systems and medical paperwork. Simply put, I am a professional caregiver, and I always give my best no mater what.

I think I am a great care giver because its a passion of mine to help and seeing the smile on my patients face makes my world brighten. My grandmother had open heart surgery and I was terrified as I was close to her, her wound got infected and had to have a secondary surgery to correct the infection. In that time I learned how to give bed bathes, packing wounds and managing her medications for diabetes and antibiotics and blood pressure. I lived with her for a year until she was able to do things on her own. Along with all the surgeries came dementia and Alzheimer's. I pride myself on doing my best and making someone welcomed and they have a friend in me. Hearing the stories and learning names is a wonderful part of this experience. I get to make memories and hear stories as well as conversations with amazing patients and people

I am a very compassionate and caring caregiver. I have a large number of years in orthopedic surgery and recovery, I would make an excellent caregiver as I have a background in LPN training.
