My grandmother had suffer a fracture to her femur. So for two years I had to care for my grandmother and help her adjust to her new lifestyle using a walker. I grew close to my grandmother at her times of depression and vunerbility. I loved that I was making a difference to her happiness.

Hi! My name is Angeleck Richardson. I'm known to be kind, patient, and talkative. I became interested in being a caregiver after working a few retail jobs and realizing that I felt very unfilled in a line of work that didn't provide me with the opportunity to connect with others. While working those jobs, my sister who is disabled often called me on my lunch break and chatted with me, telling me all about her day and what happened with her and her friends. I've grown up taking care of my sister, driving her to her activities, going to the park together, watching old school 90's RnB videos (her favorite, she knows every word), and just being her friend. After my dad, I was her secondary caregiver and everything I did with her I enjoyed. Of course there were very difficult days, but it was patience, understanding and space for both of us to be comfortable that allowed situations to work out. That is something I'm proud of.

I am a certified Home Health Aide and medication tech with over 10 years of experience. I am a United States Marine Corps veteran with a bachelor's degree in Microbiology. Also a veteran firefighter and EMT. Specialties include, hospice care, dementia care, PTSD care, hover lift, bed bound, medication pass, and hospice medication administration. I am hard working, compassionate, and loving. I love helping others.

Hi I have been a caregiver for 20yrs in my years of caregiving I have served clients with cognitively impaired, dialysis at their homes, quadriplegic females, tube feeding, catheterize women, diabetes, colonoscopy bags change,hospices,light house keeping , doctors appointments

I recently graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in Microbiology. I became a caregiver as a learning opportunity to interact with an older population of patients and I fell in love with geriatrics. In my experience as a caregiver I have gained so much patience and compassion for the people I have worked with. I enjoy listening to the incredible stories that each individual patient has to offer. I have a strong understanding of what each patient needs and I appreciate the chance to assist each patient live their daily lives in comfort. The last thing these patients want is to lose their independence and my goal is to enhance their life so they can continue living a fulfilling life. My eventual goal is to become a physician's assistant and I am interested in fulfilling a certain amount of patient care hours that is required for applying to P.A. school.

My first job was to care [ as volunteer] for an elderly woman with a stroke --- 24/7 for 1-1/2 years . She was initially convinced she had been abducted --- regularly screaming for release / banging on the walls. She was still cooperative, and needed full care [ ---- there was no assistance. She arrived from the hospital with an open sore on her heel -- healed that in 3 months [ to astonishment of physician ]. before family transferred her to a facility, she had advanced to daily walking exercise and oil painting -- completed 2 quite good paintings. I enjoy helping people --- and care giving staff has been the nicest people I have ever known.

I am a highly empathetic person and enjoy helping others. If I know I have helped eased someone's burden or helped them pursue their passions, I am fulfilled. I have an excellent work ethic and I'm detail oriented. My personality easily lends itself to senior care and companionship. I have a neuroscience and cognitive science education background and am training to become an Occupational Therapist.

I found my passion to help others in the medical field. I want to assist others in improving their quality of life, and to be there every step of the way. I am patient, hardworking, fun, and athletic, and hope to bring joy and comfort to others' lives. My ultimate goal is to become a registered nurse, then an acute care nurse practitioner in the emergency department.

What makes me a Great Care giver, is my huge heart and personal ability to empathize and be compassionate w my clients. I know nobody wishes to be sick or ailing, so I always try to bring a little sunshine into they're lives, and let them feel a sense of unity and belonging. I try to leave my clients in a better state of mind, than before I got there. I became care giver; because in a pretty dark part of my past, someone very close to me ended up being stabbed 8x. And I was so scared, that I didn't even know what to begin to do. So it was then,that i decided to get into the healthcare field, educate myself, so that I would never find myself in a situation like that again. I love so much about working as a care giver, where should I start?... First off, the fulfillment of actually being able to help someone, hands-on, is very self-gratifying for me. Also knowing that I may make someone's life a little less stressful or painful, just by being able bodied enough to assist them in day to day needs, means a lot for me. But being able to touch someone's life, by sharing a piece of my love, kindness, and understanding w a individual or family, as well as imprinting a piece of myself within them, is probably the BEST reward out of it all. I believe God will place us into certain people's life's at just the right time. When it is most needed. That we may embark on a journey of strength and hopefully healing together. I know in my Heart of Hearts, that being able to offer my help, assistance, or relief to someone or a family in dire need of it, is truly where I need to be. I need to be helping people.... I love what I do , I love to take care people that they need me, also kids, I'm also a kindergarten teacher,CNA,HHA and RNA

My reasoning to become a care giver would be my grandma who was a nurse in the U.S. Navy. She was respected by all because she was the best at what she did. I learned a lot from her growing up. I love being able to help people who need the help. It makes me feel so good about myself knowing I am doing what my grandma taught me as well as I know even if it is a small impact in someone's life it makes me feel great. The most proudest achievement I have made was when I did my intern at a nursing home when I got my CNA and looking at those people's faces glow when I walked into their room or the compliments I got just because I sat there to listen to their stories or whatever they might have needed even if it was small. I learned a lot working there. It was a great experience in itself.
