I am most passionate about and have always enjoyed caring for the elderly in a professional, compassionate and loving way. I have 5 years of experience helping seniors and enjoy assisting the elderly with daily living tasks or just simply keeping them company. I am a state-registered Home Care Aide and a former Pharmacy Technician. I love helping people and seeing people become happier by having someone around to take of things they cannot do on their own. I am well-educated, have done lots of travel and enjoy talking to seniors about things they are interested and hearing stories about their lives and helping them discover new things within their capability that they can enjoy doing.

My experience as a caregiver extends to working for Lighthouse Independent Living Services as an Independent Living Services Instructor, United Cerebral Palsy as an In-Home Trainer and Heartfelt Home Care Services working with elders. My experience as a caregiver began 18 years ago as I learned a great deal about the importance of being a caregiver as I started my caregiving responsibilities for my wife. I have a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Healthy Aging and during my studies, I volunteered to work at People's Self-Help Housing working with elders helping them with counseling, transportation and other needs. I have an interesting and funny story regarding how I saved a client from paying a $260 bill. My degree is allowing me to be a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern (IMF 79643). I feel it is not only important to help the client, it is important to help the family as a whole if there is difficulty. I look forward to providing counseling support to other members of the family as needed. In addition, I have a second Master of Arts degree in Education, specializing in Counseling and Guidance. I became a School Counselor and currently maintain a school counseling credential. Before working towards becoming a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMF 79643), I worked with at-risk students some of whom had situations where they had lost a parent due to illness which had affected their school performance. I look forward to helping elders so they can be healthy and have the opportunity to be as self sufficient as possible.

I care about people in general. Taking care of people in the past was genuinely a wonderful experience. The people who I cared for always felt safe around me. Making them laugh is very important to me.

Care Coordinator I am currently working with the senior community as a caregiver and assisting care with those who are in need of assistance with their everyday needs located in Sun City, California and surrounding areas. I enjoy working with seniors and helping to make a difference in the community. I am dedicated and passionate about helping the senior community and contributing in helping them in seeking the best care for them and their families. I have an extensive background in care management in senior care. I have experience in working with programs that promote "Life Enrichment " and the '8 Dimensions of Engagement" in promoting wellness and health in the senior community. I have also assisted in Home Health in providing care with new and existing clients with planning daily schedules, medications reminders, meal plans, care after surgery, daily tasks needed for in home care and everyday concerns of promoting successful living care for clients in need of assisted living. I am dedicated to our seniors it is my number one priority that they are receiving the best care that they deserve. I enjoy working with families who are in need of assistance and making the concern for their loved ones an easy transition into having a dependable, trustworthy, honest Christian who works with integrity who is experienced in coming into their home for assistance. A great caregiver treats the person like a member of the family or a longtime friend. He is kind, patient, supportive, engaging and flexible to the person's needs. In my recent job, an RN told me I would be a good caregiver. She based this on weeks of observing how I interacted with patients coming in for COVID-19 vaccination injections. It made me consider caregiving as an employment option. I tend to have a genuine concern for and interest in people. My wife and I attended church with the matriarch of a family. We had assisted her with meals and transportation and just being there sometimes. We were honored when the family asked us to be in attendance when she was disconnected from life support and passed away. We were proud to have been thought of with such regard. Having resided here since about age six, I consider myself a Los Angeleno, even though I was born in Belize, Central America. A proud husband and father and a forever fan of the Clippers!

Playing games, listening to music, dancing even if we are in a chair. I was with a client recently and his son came by for a visit and asked if there was a party going on and why he wasn't invited. It's hard to get old and hard on everyone, whether some patients bodies are giving out but their minds are completely ok or a patient has Alzheimer's or dementia having fun is important for everyone. We handle everything from medication management, can suggest alternative care, physical therapy (keeping the client as active as possible), socializing with their peers, prepare healthy meals & would be there to help with anything that is needed. Scheduling any & all Dr's appointments, provide transportation and detailed notes for family. I also work as a case manager so I have a group of caregivers that I've worked with for years where coverage would Never be a problem making sure that the patient & families have the right person for the job.
