I am energetic and reliable. I work closely with the family to ensure that all the needs of their loved one is met, so that they can relax and enjoy time with their loved one without worry. I have over 20 years' experience in elder care. I have worked in convalescent nursing homes for May 1994-June 2003. This is where I got my CNA training. Hello! My name is Laketia Knight, I am 39year old, a mother of three beautiful kids, a part-time student, and I have been a caregiver for 8 years. I am a caregiver because I not only have the heart for it, but I am passionate about helping others. In 2010, I obtain my first job as a caregiver, and instantly fell in love with it. This career choice lined right up with what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, and that is serve others. Some people are caregivers for the money, but I am a caregiver because I truly believe that it is what I was put on this earth to do. I treat others the way I want to be treated, and the way I want my family to be treated. What I love about being a caregiver is the interaction, the introductions of themselves and family, the history of who they are, their knowledge of life, and what I take from every person I come in contact with. I love being a caregiver so much that I am going to school to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. I hope to take my experience and knowledge of being a caregiver into business, where I plan on opening a organization where I help and uplift women. So, if you are wondering what makes me a great caregiver, I hope after reading this, you can see why I could be a great caregiver to your love ones. Also, I would like to add that I won caregiver of the year in 2017.

In order to be a great caregiver an individual should be dependable, attentive, and compassionate. These are just a few of the many positive traits I posses. I became a caregiver because I want to give back to people. I have always wanted to help others and make a difference in the world. I may not have an impact on the world but if I could truly make a positive difference in one life then it brings me happiness and gives me purpose. A personal achievement I'm proud of is that I now have two years living in Hawaii and I have been able to push through difficult situations adjusting to a new place.

I became a caregiver for mentally/physically handicapped adults because I love helping others. I love knowing that what I do makes a difference in someone's life. I left my previous caregiver employment to deploy to Afghanistan where I earned the Combat Action Badge and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. I am currently pursuing a A.S. in Business Administration and hope to one day use that to open a midwife or doula business.

I became a caregiver due to my natural gift of nurture and i love to improve others quality of life . I am a veteran of the us army as well as a mother of 2 of awesome fully grown children , In addition i have completed certification classes for pharmacy technology .
