Hi, my name is Destinee. I live in Los Angeles , CA and I've been a caregiver for 4 years.

I really enjoy being a caregiver, I currently work with developmental and disability behavioral patients. What I enjoy most about what I do is that I learn a lot from my patients everyday . Even though I'm working to help them achieve their daily living needs, health and activities. They teach me to be a better person, develop patience, knowledge and a sense of purpose. Knowing that I can help make a difference in someone's life is very rewarding . I'm a strong believer, that it takes a village and you can learn a lot from anyone.

I enjoy being a caregiver. I am lighthearted, compassionate, empathetic, caring and understanding. I started caregiving over 20 years ago, for my grandfather. That's when I knew this was meant for me. This deepened my commitment to the field of caregiving. I became a foster parent 6 years ago, I have been able to be a part of so many lives and such diverse situations. I find helping others in need self rewarding. This is what I love to do.

I started my caregiving career back in 2009. I have worked for a variety of home care agencies over the past 10 years, but have worked in private caregiving settings as well. I understand the importance of this role and enjoy providing the highest level of care possible. My experience includes: assisting with hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, running errands for clients, bathing, toileting, ambulation, housekeeping, and transferring care. I can also provide transportation to/from medical appointments or other personal outings. I also have experience working with dementia, Parkinson's, and hospice care settings. I am able to take vital signs, monitor sugar levels for diabetic patients, and provide incontinence care. Every individual is unique and has their own needs and I enjoy helping in any way that I can!
