I chose caregiving because I am in school for healthcare; I love science and my emphasis is epidemiology. More than anything I love to hear people's life story, I feel caregiving provides the bridge to form a special trust, and experience another person's life. Primarily, I became a nurse due to wanting to be a Veterinarian, I love animals. I grew up to realize how sensitive and caring I truly am to the innocent things. Some personality traits that I have that helps me be a great caregiver, are caring, patience, and hardworking. These traits I have learned in personal experiences, for example, my grandmother was in hospice for her last few weeks of life due to terminal illnesses. I helped with the home nurse to move my grandmother and rotate her to different positions, take her blood pressure, monitor her oxygen levels, and change dirty linen. This help for my grandmother helped me realize there are other patients with families that might not be able to care for 24/7. However, I was lucky enough to be there. I understand we all have responsibilities as adults, and I would love to help another family in need. I enjoy caregiving for my patients because it brings them joy; to have a companion with them makes them happy. Some personal achievements that I am proud of is being able to obtain experience with wound care nurses, speech therapists, and multiple LVNs in home care and rehabilitation centers.
