I have always had a strive for helping others ever since I was a child. I have little experience, but hope I can make a career out of the opportunity given to me. Seeing how hard it was for my grandfather to do daily tasks on his own while I was younger helped me decide on what i wanted to become . I love the feeling of knowing I am able to help others. A personal achievement i am proud of would be being the first in my family to graduate.

I enjoy helping people who need some help managing their daily lives. I was caregiver to my mother who passed away from breast cancer. In caring for her, I found the help I gave to be very rewarding. I found that helping people feel better about themselves, and feel better health-wise makes me feel that I am really contributing something valuable to my fellow human beings. I am most proud of obtaining my Associates degree back in 2010. I completed the program while working a full time job and while caring for my mother.

What got me into being a caregiver was people around me constantly telling me I would be good at working with the elderly because of the patience and warmth I bring to them. I love listening to their stories. I find them very fascinating but I also understand some like silence I respect that too. I try to encourage and keep them comfortable. I feel proud to say that every patient I have had has felt comfortable around me and that's my goal to make them feel comfortable and not scared of a random person coming into their life's.
