Hello Families!!! My name is Jaya and I've been a nurse aid for going on five years now. I come from a family of thirteen children. As being the eldest daughter, caring for others has always been my second nature. My mother is also in the industry so I've been around this care setting since a kid. On my down time, I enjoy walks on the beach, watching the sunset, riding jet skis with my family as well as trying new cuisines. I enjoy making my patients' laugh while hearing stories about their life, brushing their hair and preparing them for their day. Being the person who cares for and assist them at the times they need the most, gives me the most gratitude. I have worked in various settings of care. I have did in home care, assisted living, memory care, skilled, and acute nursing facilities as well as geriatric care. I know my way around a variety of patients, behaviors, and levels of care. I am in school now to obtain my certificate for a Licensed Practical Nurse and hopefully will continue my schooling to become a geriatric nurse.

I'm kind and helpful, but that's just something you'd have to see for yourself. When caring for someone you have to show it and mean it. There's millions of families that need the help for there loved one and I will when necessary go out of my way and help that family. I enjoy helping families and caring for not only the one in need of my attention but the ones around them as well. A personal achievement that I'm strongly proud of is that no matter how a person drags my spirit down to make me feel sad or alone I never let it happen I keep living proud and thankful for the life I live.

I'm also detail-oriented and reliable, which is critical when managing medications, routines, and special needs. My ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to unexpected situations helps ensure the person I'm caring for always feels safe and supported. I've always had a strong desire to help others, and caregiving felt like a meaningful way to make a direct impact in someone's life. What drew me in the most was the opportunity to provide comfort and companionship to those who might otherwise feel isolated. Seeing how a small act of kindness can change someone's whole day made me realize this was the right path for me. One achievement I'm especially proud of was helping a non-verbal client feel safe and understood through consistent care and communication. Over time, we developed a system of gestures and visual cues that allowed them to express their needs more clearly, and their stress levels noticeably decreased. It reminded me that small, patient steps can lead to meaningful breakthroughs.
