I am in my late fifties and am an Army Veteran . It makes me reliable. I enjoy the the flexibility in scheduling as a Professional Caregiver. I am also the Dad of a teenage daughter, I am quite proud of that. I have experience caring for a close family member with Alzheimer's and Dementia. My skills set include changing incontinence undergarments, assisting the Care Recipient with getting dressed, grooming and body cleaning. Lifting the Care Recipient out of bed without a Hoyer Lift and placing into a wheelchair. Feeding the Care Recipient, assisting the Care Recipient with walking with the aid of a walker and safety belt. Playing assorted games with Care Recipient to keep them engaged. I am also an experienced Cook and Housekeeper.

I have been a Registered Nurse since the age of 21 years old and have 35 years of Home Health nursing experience . I have experience in trachs, ventilators, gastrostomy tubes, cancer patient, quadriplegics and overall basic care. Im CPR certified and vaccinated for covid-19. I will take highest level of precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. I have been with one patient for 34 years and still caring for him. I'm caring, patient, compassionate and sensitive to my patients needs. I've also worked as a hospice volunteer for Sutter Hospital. I have also volunteered at The Marine Mammal Center for 18 years in the Intensive Care Unit for harbor seals. I'm dependable and able to provide transportation to doctors appointments and run errands.

I became a caregiver because I have a passion with providing care to those individuals who need assistant with staying in the comfort of their home safely. I enjoy being apart of a team who promote clients to reach their highest level of independence. After, discovering I really enjoyed the kind of work that I do I went back to school and pursued my CNA/HHA and Acute Care license. I have five years of experience as a PCA, My first encounter was taking care of a stroke client. I'm interested in this job because I already like helping others whether old or young and I know that life is very difficult and sometimes being that person who can make people happy and fulfilled, why not? I also have elderly parents and I know the difficulty of always being there for them. I became a caregiver because I am a people person and I love working with people who need my help. I think of the people I care for as my family and that makes a difference between me and other caregivers. One of my achievements is when one of my residents moved to another facility and the family chose me to come to where he was now living and train the new people how to take care of him. I love my career, and would never change it.

Before I came to the US, I lived with my great grandfather. I was his full time caregiver. He loved me and I loved him more. I approach senior patients as my great grand father. I first decided to be a caregiver after helping my parents care for my grandparents and then myself caring for my uncle and mother. I absolutely love what I do! I am also a cancer survivor of 17 years and have worked in the medical field for the last 8 years and have learned that life has its ups and downs and we are all blessed to be living another day so I like to give a helping hand whenever I can.
