What attracted me to be a caregiver was when I took care of my grandfather with prostate cancer before he died. I always enjoyed being a caregiver because I treat people as my family members. I'm a caregiver and healer by nature! I love to bake, read, take walks/hike, and play games. I'm a habitual student--I love to learn! My medical background gives me an excellent knowledge base (medical assistant & occupational therapy assistant), but my experience and genuine compassion are my biggest assets. I have worked with a wide variety of ages with an equally wide variety of physical/social/mental health needs, including special needs children as a school health aid, OTA at a skilled nursing/long term acute care hospital, medical assistant, co-led a divorce care group at my church, internship at Arapaho Co. Mental Health, and provided my grandmother (advanced Alzheimer's Disease & stroke) with a loving and caring home for 5 years. I have also been by my mom's side during her breast cancer treatment (never missed a chemo!). Please note that my services do not include occupational therapy treatment/services, but having this education and experience is immensely helpful in helping your loved one stay safe while in my care. I understand how difficult finding a reliable, competent, and compassionate caregiver can be, and I know the struggles and stresses of caring for a family member! But the reward of knowing that I made an impact in someone's life is my greatest reward. I like caring for people with special needs because I enjoy helping individuals and their families maximize their lives thru exploration, experiences and age appropriate activities I'm looking for a job that provides me with long term work, flexible schedule, competitive pay. I have been a caregiver for about 10-13 years. I am compassionate and dependable person. I have always had apathy towards my clients. Allowing them to retain their dignity and giving them respect. I became a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of the elderly. I enjoy during work that makes a difference in someone life. What i have enjoy the most about being a caregiver is assisting the elderly in making their day as less stressful as possible. I attended Colorado Christian University as a Health Science Major, and it was recommended to me to get my "foot in the door" by working as a Care Giver at an assisted living home. I didn't expect to "like" the job as first, but after a while I found that it was totally worth it to invest in the same people day after da and build precious relationships with them while I had the honor to take care of them.

I am a great caregiver because I have a lot of compassion for helping people. I am patient and kind and I know how to put myself in other people shoes. What attracted me is when my mom got sick of cancer and for years, I had to help take care of her when I can. My Before that my nana had a stroke and I watched my mom take care of her. My personal achievement I am proud of is I received my certificate in healthcare administration. I am going to work on getting my associates in that field online when I can. Maybe next year.
