I became a caregiver on account of my good friend Ronnie Starling who was treated "bad" repeatedly by others and I wanted to save him from that kind of life, which he did not deserve and give him a safe and nurturing environment by taking care of him in my home. I took care of Ron on a volunteer basis for almost 2 years and It was on account of Ron that I decided to go to college for HHA/CNA in order to learn professional care in order to to take even better care of him! What I like most about caregiving is the satisfaction I get meeting other people's needs, making sure they lack for nothing and just being able to make their lives a little easier, comfortable and more fulfilling mentally, emotionally, physically and even spiritually. I love to be an encouragement in any way possible. I have worked with Alzheimer's decease and Dementia patients as well as end of life care. I only wish to be of help to those in need.

I'm trustworthy , experienced , nurturing , empathetic and energetic . I focus on being a positive joyful loving caring nurse and companion , I give dignity everyday . I can take care of everything , even manage the home , any repairs , shopping , and all the medical visits , and any paperwork . I can teach art , crafts , physical therapy , singing , or take to country club or senior center . I can arrange social visits and lunches with patients friends to keep them as active as they once used to be . I will add joy back into thier lives without making them feel sick . I have training also in physical therapy and also have therapy animals . I would honored to take care of your loved one .

My amazing heart and warm smile has been the key to changing the lives of others daily. I make people around me feel at ease and so patient and kind with a gentle sense of humor! I feel it is not so much of the skill or certification that makes the difference but my presence in others homes and making others feel valued. I have a passion for people and animals and both love me. I enjoy the gratification in making a new day no matter what the circumstance. I am proud that my dear friend and past client told me aging is not easy, but making him laugh and feel valued each day has changed his life and he called me friend.

I really enjoyed being a care giver previously to 2 other ladies and my mother. I enjoy the wisdom and conversations they have to offer. I am very friendly and a great listener and conversationalist. I have been to many Parkinson's meetings with one of my ladies but she passed away sadly. It was heart breaking. I do know the many phases of Parkinsons and Dementia, and also am very patient. I am very good at making the person talk lots about their interesting pasts. I raised 3 beautiful wonderful children so patience is second nature to me. My father is still alive and 91 and I have seen very close up what its like to go through the later years of life. I think care giving is very rewarding and under estimated. The elderly deserve to be heard and seen and given the best attention at the end of their journey on this earth.

I have been a compassionate and empathetic person my whole life. I have had a career in teaching, where I worked with special needs children for 8 years. I also had a career as an art therapist where I worked with children through geriatric clients in a children's residential home, hospitals, a day care for the elderly, a housing project, and addiction center. I have worked with physical, mental, and emotional issues and love helping people and try to help them feel more positive. I'm a good cook and also love cooking and baking. A personal achievement of mine was working with physically and mentally challenged toddlers and preschoolers. The slightest growth was a huge achievement. I had great relationships with the children and their parents. It was such an accomplished feeling. Tuning into a person at the level they are at is extremely important to me.
