I have been a professional caregiver most of my adult life. I have been given the privilege of caring for a child that has a diagnosis of severe and profound mentally handicapped to caring for family members and close friends that need respite care to give the family some down time. I currently take care of a senior in Clearwater Fl. I provide skills of daily living along with daily physical activity. I also encourage social activities such as playing board games, cards and puzzles. Hello allow me to introduce myself my name is Lynnfreda Rivers I started out as a caregiver in March of 1999 working in group homes two years afterwards I was promoted to become a DSP(Shift Leader) for a company working with the disabled adults and children at which I worked for for over 8 years then I switched over to work with Senior Citizens one on one,what attracted me to become a caregiver was that when I was younger I would help a few of my elderly neighbors bring in their groceries and do light housekeeping around their homes .what I love most about my job is assisting others and taking them out in the communities and showing them that they can still enjoy life ,I love to keep a smile on their face and go the extra mile for my patients.,over the years of being a caregiver I received my HHA(Home Health Aide) and will be going back to school to become a RN(Registered Nurse) soon being in this field has taught me so much over the years.
