At the age of 17, I got my first job at a nursing home as a nursing assistant. Out of all the stereotypes and negative perceptions I initially had of the elderly individuals, were immediately replaced with countless experiences which proved that the elderly was not at all defined by their wrinkles or gay hair. Instead, they are human beings with life stories that can change lives and perceptions, make a difference, and perhaps save our generation today. It was then I began to realize and appreciate my passion and purpose in life; which I truly believe is serving the elderly. My family and friends would always describe me as this nurturing and caring individual. I was never expected to have experienced problems or issues that my loved ones would bring to me, but they have always thought of me to be this empathetic individual that could visualize myself in others shoes just enough so I could understand and help them find a solution. Throughout college I gained even more experience working with the elderly as a home health aide and traveling nursing assistant. In 2014, my dear grandmother became very sick and suffered from a stroke. I had just graduated college and did not plan to move back home. Although there were others that could help take care of my grandmother, I felt as if no one else in the family would take out the time to understand her needs, or have enough patience to deal with her. Not only did I move home, but I would sleep with my grandmother every night just so I could make sure she was at peace. My grandmother never wanted to leave the house or do anything unless I would accompany her. It was not because I was her favorite or had experience working with others her age, it was solely because I obtain the qualities and personal traits, as I mentioned above; necessary to take care of my sweet grandmother. This is a small synopsis of my story.

Goal oriented. Self motivated. Grand mother of 3 children one of them still resides in Hawaii. 2 children of my own both are in their 30 's. Recently, married again 3 months ago. Previous marriage 32 years. Love to laugh. First aid CPR certified. Inservice classes done. Enjoy, long walks. Enjoy helping people part time. 27 years experience caring for people while working in Corporate america. I have Pharma and Aerospace background. I have been in the Quality field 24 years for both industries. 1991 I have been Private duty non medical sitting for Elder Care in Roanoke, Virginia. Visiting Angels in Fort Worth, Texas at the time my name was Barbara Holland in which is my old marriage name.

I am a natural born caregiver. I have three wonderful boys that I love to teach and watch them grow. I am extremely empathetic to all those who's path I cross. I have helped to assist my dear friends daily needs who was diagnosed with Parkinson's four years ago. Everyone needs a helping hand at certain times in life. I hope I can fill those needs for those who require assistance in their daily activities.

I love working with seniors especially and have always provided some care giving since a girl growing up. I have trained as a medical assistant and Surgical technician but found that I enjoyed one on one care most. My grandmother was the reason I chose to be a caregiver since she lived with us and I took care of her. I enjoy helping others to do things they have always done and enjoyed doing, but also helping them to retain their dignity, worth, and standard of life. I have worked with the elderly in areas ranging from simple companionship, stroke, heart attack, dementia, MS and mental health issues and hospice for over 20 years, assisting with daily and personal needs, meal prep, shopping, appointments, transportation and medication monitoring. My personal achievement is being there to see them with a smile and back to health and with hope that things are going to be better. I have had more than one career, and want to continue to be useful to myself and others. I love taking care of my family, and feel the need to take care of others. I have had some difficult times in life myself and having had this same kind of assistance from others is something I found invaluable.

I am a great caregiver because I truly do love to help in any way I can and always have put natural caring attention in all I do. I have worked in a variety of settings, allowing diversity and adaptability in any situation, but it is in Home Health that I feel my caring nature can not only shine but is also most appreciated. I enjoy making connections with individuals where we mutually appreciate each other's presence in our lives while improving our lives, happiness, independence and overall health by sharing in it together. I truly love to see positive improvement in others from my assisting care! A personal achievement I am most proud of is my pursuit of assisting others in healthcare, because I truly feel I have finally found my purpose in life helping others in this way.

I worked in the hospitals and clinic for over 20 years and always gave the best care to my patients. I care for the people who needs my assistance. I was known in the hospital for being there when someone condition changed for the worth. I am a caring person, because I want the same treatment in my life.

I am a loving mother and wife looking for part time care of someone later in life. I feel so passionately about being human and enjoying the human experience until the very end of our lives. I am attracted to applying my love for people to someone in need. I am currently a director in a substance abuse program. I love working with the women and men but I am feeling pulled in the direction of caring for those in the twilight of their lives. I am seeking part-time employment so that I may also lovingly serve my family in the evenings and weekends. I am grateful to be a woman of God and that I am able to use my gifts to serve others.

I have an 8 year experience being an oncology nurse and absolutely love taking care of other people. That background alone I believe makes me a qualified caregiver, however, there is much more to being a caregiver. I love to make people smile and I love to listen to others when they just need an ear to hear. My grandmother was a caregiver all of her life and I am so happy to follow in her footsteps.

I love providing home healthcare services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so. The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right. I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing.

I am currently a nursing student and a PCT at Shepherd Center Hospital. I enjoying taking care of people especially those who need it most. I'm caring and compassionate which I think is key to being a successful care giver. Completing my bachelors degree in health science and going back to school to become an RN. I have A 3 month old and in my spare time I work out a lot and fish as well.

I am a caregivier/nanny because I enjoy playing a mother role. I feel that my team player attitude and patients help the older people I care for feel more at ease.

My parents passed about seven years ago and I helped take care of them before they passed. They both had diabetes, my mom was on dialysis, they both had congestive heart failure. I will take care of my patients the way I took care of my parents. I will treat them the way I would want someone to treat my parents

I became a caregiver because I love helping others. I love the satisfaction you feel when you help someone and they tell you that you made their day. Helped a patient that couldn't feed herself or assist with her own personal grooming I helped her become more independent. I have been a CNA for the past 8 years and I have experience not only in home health but also hospital and long term care.

I have worked in the medical field for more than twenty five years .....I really enjoy being a care giver and knowing that I have made a different in someone life for the day.....I have experience working in the hospital also the Emergency Room Tech.

Recently graduated with honors from CSCC's fast track accelerated LPN program. I've received my CNA & PCA from CSCC, AAS degree from OSU, and I am CPR certified. During high school, I was trained and worked as a student athletic trainer. My experience caring for seniors includes: working as a care companion for a quadriplegic patient through care. com, numerous amounts of clinical hours preformed at nursing homes, hospitals, Franklin county prison's medical center, and at live-in rehabilitation centers, on the skilled rehab floor. Patients cared for on this floor consisted of those recovering from injuries due to falls, strokes, MI's, pneumonia, or surgeries for various reasons. My experience consists of bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulating patients. Passing meds, starting IVs, giving insulin and TB injections, inserting catheters, bowel prep including dispensing enemas, wound care and dressing changes, taking vitals and assessing patients.

I stayed with my father for the last month of his life. He passed from COPD and heart failure. I did all of his daily needs and medications/therapies. I currently take my mother who has had lung cancer to all of her appointments and shopping. I love helping others and believe the edlery need all the love and help we can give them. I am punctual and attention detailed. I work for the school system so am off for summer so am available anytime right now. Due to working for school system, I have the background check through them as well as Department of Family and Children services. I am CPR trained.
