I was a preschool teacher for 23 years. My responsibilities were to teach and nurture the children that were in my care. I took care of my father who was dying of pancreatic cancer. I also took care of my husband needs he had many medical issues.

I am a very upbeat person ready and willing to help. I also want to learn what might be the best way for the client as well. I was attracted to caregiving because it's something very natural for me. I grew up with a mother who was physically disabled because of a car accident when I was still an infant. I can also say that it brings me some fulfillment to know that I'm actually helping someone who will appreciate it. My personal achievement that I am proud of would be the person who I've become through my own struggles and situations that I've gone through.

I was also in the RN program in Florida. I completed 2 semesters but dropped out to become a massage therapist. I also worked as a Phlebotomist for 3 years. As an Acupuncturist I treated many different problems with adults and children. I took care of my mom who had dementia for many years until she went into a nursing home. I also took care of my brother who had dementia for a couple of years until he went into a nursing home. I lived on Oahu from 1978-1989. I moved back to Florida where I grew up and just moved to Maui 3 weeks ago. My personality traits are kindness, compassion, patience, listening and love for all people, these are traits I extend to everyone I meet. Since I was a young girl I have always wanted to help people. As I got older I began to help friends, family, co-workers. Sometimes it was just to listen to them and give support. What I have enjoyed most is how it makes me feel to be a caregiver. It always feels better to give! The people always teach me especially how to be a better person. I also enjoy making peoples lives better. I am proud of myself for being a mother, daughter, sister, friend, for the schooling I have had, for being healthy and happy, for doing what's right, for being a hard worker, for seeing the good in people, for making a difference in people's lives, for being in awe of life!

Passion to work with senior elders only, caring for them by doing the following duties for them: prepare for their meals e times daily, planning, groceries shopping, errands, etc, lite housekeeping, laundry, medications, in/out of bed on a daily basis, exercises, walking, etc. I am a very reliable and dependable person. I take my job very seriously and caring for all of my clients and families. I make sure all of my duties are all done before end of my shift. Always on time and very reliable on my schedule days. I'm always available when needed someone right there or an emergency comes up and can't find anyone to cover any shifts.

To obtain a full time position as a certified nursing assistant for your loved one. I'm CPR/first aid certified, AED certified and nurse delegated. I have had eight years experience with great letters of recommendation and glowing references from long term and as needed clients. I've been fortunate enough to work with some really wonderful people and their families, learning how to build different types of treatment plans for clients with many kinds of physical and mental impairments. I'm very compassionate with a huge heart and I always go above and beyond. I treat my clients like I would treat my own family. I'm passionate about making people feel as comfortable and happy as they can possibly be in the comfort in their own home, and enriching their lives the best way I can.

I am caring but not enabling. I allow the clients that I work with to feel as independent as possible. I think it is important for those that we love and care for to feel good about themselves. It is my goal to show dignity and respect while still being compassionate and helpful.
