I believe growing up with my grandparents is what makes me a great caregiver i would say. I never thought i would be out here in American doing caregiving work but because the love that i have for my grandparents until they passed is what attracted me to be one today. I love & enjoy elders company because they always remind me of my grandparents. I love taking care of them. The personal achievement that i would say is that I've learned & achieved so much during my 3-4 years working in the industry ( memory care & Assisted living) from different people from all around the world & it's amazing. Hello my name is Sarah and I am 18 years old, I started care giving when I was 15 at a nursing home that my mother was also working at as a nurse. I am super outgoing and caring towards my residents. I have a very upbeat personality. The thing that made me want to become a care giver is that mother has always been one. She started off as a CNA like me but now she is a Nurse. I am a very loving and free spirit person. I have a nurturing nature to take care others and I always feel the need to help or make things better which is what draws me to being such a great care taker. I am friendly. I can keep a good conversation and I am not afraid of bring open or opening up to others. I am enjoy making others feel better or making their day a lot easier. I'm a likeable person with a kind soul. I like being a caregiver, because I like to help people. I enjoy being able to do my job and spend time with people at the same time. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I went back to college and am graduating at the end of this year.

My grandmother almost died when I was 14 years old. She ended up having a urostomy and fecal bag. She needed help when she returned home as she had lost a lot of weight and had to learn to apply her urostomy everytime it leaked. Later on in her years she needed a bit more care. I love being able to help others maintain their life style and I learn from them as well. I am most proud of raising my son to be a caregiver as well. As a single mom raising him was my number one priority. He has grown into a young man who is a father, husband and a nurse. I am a loyal friend/ person, very dedicated and hard working. I've worked 2 jobs since my son was 8 years old.

I am calm, focused, experienced, love what I do and enjoy my job along with the daily challenges. Although the clients are different people they each have a need to complete their daily life! It's finding that ability to help them that I enjoy.
