I have been a home health care provider for more than 20years. I love the idea of taking care of people who can no longer take care of themselves. I am kind & patient. I am understanding of their constantly needs & moods. I understand their sadness & loneliness. I am also a good listener. In the past my patient's families really appreciated the fact that I was so dependable & trustworthy. They never had to worry about their loved ones when I was on duty. I am most proud of my ability to stay with one of two patients for an extended period of time. I was with one for 10 years until he passed away and with my last one for nearly 7.

I am a mother of 3 and love to care for anyone who's in need of care. My grandmother have Alzheimer's and I love sitting with her, cooking for her, grocery shopping for her and taking care of her home. I also have a friend who's grandmother is legally blind in both eyes and from time to time ill go check on her, clean her home and cook for her. I do understand that when ppl get up in age they barely ask for help and don't feel like they need anyone so that's why I come off sweet as possible and still get the job done anyway. I look at it like this they raised us and cared for us all our lives. Time to return the favor

Hello my name is Jatara Coleman I'am 19 years of age .I first started doing home health care with when I was 10years old my mother she was a RN and PartTime CareGiver to family and friends for over 20 years this field is nothing new to me in November of 2011 Our family descoverd my mother had leukemia during this time i really became invested in the medical field to properly take care of my mother all the skills she taught me through out the years kicked in i even took up some basic nursing classes in high school to properly learn the skills .In the mist of all of this my brother was hit by a car in a hit and run which caused him to suffer from strokes and blood clots in his legs while my brother was home he was under my care because he was uncomfortable with a home aid so I made out a daily meal plan and daily exercises so he can one gain his strength and two learn how to walk all over again my brother battle ended December 25,2016 at the age 24 and My mothers battle ended Februray 6,2017 I took care of them both until the end these two are the reasons why I started working in home health care.What I enjoy the most about the job is that I am able to help someones day more better then the day before my object is to make my clients feel like family with love care and understanding . I have a couple personal achievements, because in the past year I over came alot I got my first apartment and car and still have both ; everyone around me expected me to fall and never get back up. At the age of 19 I over came everything that came my way with strenght,faith and wisdom I looked at everything as a lesson and I still do ; because I had to learn everything on my own with no help so it made my out look on life change.

I enjoy helping those who can't helped themselves. Before my grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's I helped her and made sure she was comfortable. I'm a people person who get along well with other's well.

I enjoy being a caregiver because I enjoy the pleasure of helping someone prosper and achieve personal goals.

Communication Skills - I am good in written word and verbal communications Listening Skills - My active listening skills are exceptional I am also Honest and I have a Strong Work Ethic What attracted me to being a caregiver? - I have both empathy and compassion, and I let the person I am caring for know that I am all about them and what they need. What I enjoy most about being a care giver - I enjoy talking with the patients which bring them back to life because they know that someone is actively listening to them. The personal achievements I am proud of? Is when I see the patient overcome their challenges.
