Hi, I'm Josie! After a 20 year career in corporate America, I am actively seeking work as a caretaker. My passion is cooking and look forward to sharing healthy cooking with those in need. Healthy cooking does not need to be bland, and what sets me apart from other chefs, is I enjoy tasting as I go to ensure a good flavor profile, while also adhering to low carb, salt, sugar, and cholesterol meals. I became a caregiver while taking care of a parapalegic friend who was totally bedridden. He was 6'4 and didn't fit in his bed in his trailer. I got him an electric hospital bed and proceeded to find agencies who would care for him. Every agency we tried ended up not having a home caregiver, or they would send them, but they wouldn't show up. So I became his caregiver 24/7. I cared for him for 5 years, and he had several other health issues that caused him to go to a nursing home, where he passed. I continued to be a caregiver, and I worked as an Administrator for a Private Home Healthcare Agency. I communicated with the clients, the nurses, and the agencies... and my love of caregiving came out. I enjoy the personal care and companionship that I can offer to my clients. I listen to them, and get to know them so I can give them the best personal care that they deserve.

I became a caregiver because I like and respect my elders. I like helping people and interacting with them. I have my Bachelor's degree in Art. I am from Vermont and I have a dog and a cat. I like to watch movies and read.

I started being a professional caretaker about 2 years ago. I wanted to be a caretaker after taking care of my grandmother and great-grandmother for 5 years. I truly love this job and have treated all of my clients like family. I don't know another way. I want to give my clients the best life that they can have at this time in their life. I have experience both professionally and personally with Alzheimer's, Dimentia, Parkinson's, CHF, Oxygen therapy, and end of life care.

I have over 20 years of work experience in both traditional and digital marketing. My passion for the arts began as a child, and in the late 80's began studying art and photography at Columbia College, Chicago. Digital media was born, so I continued my education at Governors State University for an MA in Art with a digital concentration. I have taught and developed curriculum for professional training and colleges, and have instructed beginner to experienced learners in creative and technical aspects of design, photography, computer graphics, and technology. I have always prided myself on continually trying to evolve and do things that make me happy. In 2005 I had my son, and yet again found a new passion, caregiving. I am kind, patient, and willing to admit I don't know everything. I am certified in CPR, and have had years of experience as a life guard in my youth. I'm looking for a new change, and would love to have flexible hours. The one best personal achievement would be having my son, caring for him as a single mother, and him being an A student, happy and well adjusted.

I enjoy working with seniors because I find them to be wonderful! Everyone has a unique story and I love hearing about your life and family. No matter how much help you may need, I will humbly be there to serve you. I treat people with dignity and respect at all times. I have cared for a child with a chronic illness of my own, which gave me the chance to learn the tasks of regular daily caregiving. Five years ago I retired from my first career. I have moved into a second career as an experienced certified caregiver!

I am a Wife to my amazing supportive Husband and Mother to our 5 beautiful children that span from 16 years old down to 3. We currently reside in Crystal Lake, IL and have been here for over 14 years. My whole life I have been caring for my family and family members. Offering a thoughtful and patient approach to care is a must. Both of my Grandmothers suffered health setbacks at their later stages in life (stroke, leukemia) and I was a big part in their care at a young age. I love taking care of others and knowing that they are in safe hands is such a comfort when looking for great care for a family member. Whomever is reading this is in that stressful position of finding the right care for a loved one. I can honestly say you would not find a more loving person to offer that care and peace of mind for you.

I became a caregive because I enjoy helping others that can no longer do for themselves or need a little help. I like the feeling of helping someone and being there for them. I like to take walks and exercise.

My favorite part of assisting clients is seeing them go from weary to strong. I like listening to their stories about the 'good old days'. It is important for me to make the client feel secure and empowered by assisting them when they need me, but allowing them to be independent when they are strong enough to handle the task.

I'm a very caring person, I decided to do this line of work due to my family that needed care , I enjoy working with all likes of people and I love to make people laugh and enjoy life and reflect on a good time in their life when they were happy etc . I have always wanted to help others in whatever way I can. I grew up with a handicapable brother. My strongest personality traits are Kindness, Compassion, and Patience. I have a positive attitude toward life, and believe that the way we think about situations, makes a huge difference. My father had a stroke in 2014, and I was his primary caretaker until he passed away. He died in his home around his family, and I feel very lucky to have been able to help him. My biggest personal achievement has been raising two happy boys.

I'm an easygoing person who is not easily stressed and have been told I have a great sense of humor. I pay great attention to detail, have a precise memory, and always strive to improve in whatever I'm doing. When caring for my clients, these attributes allowed me to provide them with high quality care. When I previously worked as a supervisor in a group home, the quality of care for my clients drastically increased as a result along with staff retention. It was incredibly rewarding to see my clients' improvement over time, whether that meant greater comfort or more independence, I was most encouraged to work hard for them for the sake of the improvement in their wellbeing.

I love helping elderly people and being a companion to them. I graduated from Columbia College and I have a Bachelor. My major is Broadcasting Journalism and I have 17 years of experiences being a Caregiver. I worked well under pressured situations.
