Hello, My name is Teirra Jones and I became a caregiver because I love working with people and being able to care for and help those who aren't able to care for themselves the way that they should. I started off caring for people at the age of 16 years old when I used to babysit for my aunt while she worked for 2 years and then when I turned 21 years old I applied for a DSP (Direct Support Professional) position at Little City Foundation where I was working with children with developmental disabilities. I absolutely loved everything that there was about working at Little City Foundation. I've learned so much and I've also gained allot of experience from working there.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I enjoy helping the elderly and I've been a CNA for the last 4 years and I also do home health care also. I've worked in nursing homes where there was many of residents that needed help with ADLs.

I have been taking care of elderly people for about 25 years so i have alot of experience from taking the to the doctor shopping bathing and changing them or just sitting there talking to them.

I became a Home health care because at 12 years old I was helping with my now 93 yr old grandmother. At a young age I learn to make insulin needles and help her cope and balance out when she is hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic. I believe that you do to others as you want done to you. So I treat every client as if they were my Grandmother. I enjoy the happiness in my clients eyes when help them with adl it's also my best achievement.

I love helping people. God put me on this earth to help people. Young and Elderly. I started this journey when I moved to my new house at the age of 10 . I live down the street from a senior care building and I always loved volunteering there, I've worked at a daycare as well and i know this is my calling . To help my people .

Ever since I was a child I've wanted to be a nurse. I haven't achieved that goal yet but I became the next best thing which is a medical assistant/caregiver.
