through my caregiving experience, i have learned that the people i care for teach me more about myself then i could ever learn anywhere else. i strive to have the people i care for live there life to the fullest, despite there physical or mental limitations. i have worked with a quadreplegic with muscular dystrophy, who was also a "stand up" comedian. Along with seeing a man paralyzed by cerebral palsy, live the joys of his life through poetry ever week. through my life of caregiving, i have learned the only limitations in life are the ones we make for ourselves. we can do anything we set our minds too.

6 yers in home and hospice care.CNA in Arkansa being transferred to Florida.My job is to take care of both the physical needs and mental health of my patient.I include the family in helping them to understand and accept what is happening with their loved one.It is imperative that we communicate any changes and to get the best comfort level for the patient and best peace of mind for the family.

I became a caregiver because i worked in a nursing home and did not like how the aged people was taken care of. I thought about my father and how will he be taken care when he reach the age where he will need help. I like being a caregiver, and worked as one when I was at school and also for 3 years with an agency because I feel like taking care of my father and mother. The families of aged people that I have taken care of are happy with the care I give to their father or mother.They treated me like a family. I worked as a dietitian in nursing homes until I retired to take care of my 2 year old daughter. I went back to work as caregiver when I divorced and my daughter is old enough to take care of herself when I'm at work. I love to cook and being a dietitian for 17 years, I can prepare special meals for different people who are on special diet. I am easy to work with and I'm willing to be trained. I am a happy person, I enjoy cooking and reading. And I enjoy taking care of people. What makes me a great caregiver? Well first and foremost I care for my patients. I make sure that t.eir needs are taken care of. I am also a fast learner and willing to be trained. I can also adjust to different patients and their needs.
