1. I became a Caregiver because I enjoy helping other people improve the quality of their life. 2. I love the fact that I can help people maintain their independence, and assist them with the activities of daily living. 3. Although I have many, the main achievement that I'm proud of is getting into the medical field. I've always enjoyed helping other people. 4. I am a hard worker, compassionate, team player and detailed oriented. I have been in the medical field for fifteen years and most of my experience has been dealing with patients. I truly enjoy working with people.With my last client I did such a exceptional job that my client family member call and spoke highly to my boss about me.

Services offered are companion care, email correspondence (many clients have trouble typing/returning emails), reading to the client of their choice of topics, client laundry/light housekeeping needs, transportation to/from doctor visits, grocery shopping, errands and/or outings. Light therapeutic exercises, muscle manipulation, eye to hand coordination, stretches to energize and help to strengthen. Medication compliance, testing of glucose levels, pulse/heartbeat monitoring, daily eye-drops (glaucoma), wound care and toileting assistance. Knowledgeable of the impact on health and the healing properties of certain tones and vibrational sounds, how to utilize them effectively. If the client is open to trying the sound modalities, the client may reap the benefits of increasing health for their mind, body and spirit. Depending on the client's wishes, this can be utilized intensely using headphones or played in the background while participating in other activities or therapies. Music therapy works exceedingly well for clients who suffer from Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, brain injuries and/or depression as well as any physical ailments. It will even ease a headache or muscle aches. My best achievement was in caring for a gentleman aged 108. Utilizing knowledge/skill in ayurvedic foods and spices, he was up and doing six laps per day (with his walker) throughout the house. He enjoyed the activity and change of environment immensely, since he had been an athlete in his youth. He enjoyed the food and ate every single morsel. He increased his body's strength, as well as strengthened his memory. With constant care, his wounds healed. It was a miraculous change in his health and overall quality of life. I loved seeing the changes in him and seeing him smile, his newfound health made him radiant!!! I'm Ed, a semi-retired university professor of health administration in Tucson Arizona. I assist clients navigate the healthcare system as well as help them with paying bills, organizing their medications, and providing transportation to medical appointments. I do not provide cooking or direct assistance with bathing, eating or other activities of daily living. Rather I serve as an informal case manager and coordinator of services. I want to help seniors and others thrive whatever their condition. I'm currently volunteering at the Villa Maria Care Center. Also, I have experience in assisting my parents as they aged. I have an MBA and a PhD in Health Care Administration, and I worked as a educator and trainer for 27 years. I am a intermediate-level Spanish speaker, and would like to have more practice speaking Spanish with bilingual clients.

I am positive, energetic, patient, and kind. I love playing games and taking walks. I was primarily raised by my grandmother, and lived with her growing up, so I naturally have always gotten along really well with seniors. I spent a lot of time in my teens and early 20s helping my mom and aunts care for her increasing needs as she entered dementia and became more and more reliant on her wheelchair. When she was 93, she needed a lot more hands on care, so I had her move in with me. I helped her in and out of bed, with diaper changes, washing, cleaning of her room, making meals, making sure she took her medications and did exercise, making and attending doctor visits, balancing her checkbook, keeping her mind sharp with games and conversations, and anything else she needed. She passed away at age 95, and since then I have been interested in helping others with caring for their loved ones. I worked as a full-time Massage Therapist for 3 years prior to taking her in, and majority of my clients were elderly people with chronic pain and mobility problems. I will be graduating in December with a Masters in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, and as an intern a majority of my patients have been seniors. These relationships have been some of the most rewarding in my life, and I continue to be drawn to caring for and building friendships with the elderly.

There is nothing more that I would rather do than help others. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone’s life. I enjoy the opportunity to impact clients’ lives and make a difference to them. I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives. I have been in the health field every since 1994, i have a passion to care for people. I have worked in the hospital, nursing homes, skilled, med surge, mental Ill as well as with children with disabilities. What i learn is you can always learn a lot from people no matter what's their health issues. I have six children but in 2012 and 2013 two of my daughters i had to lay to rest. Then on 9/11/14 i laid my mom to rest but i learn after all the ups and downs i find that caring for people still bought a smile to my heart. I have a Pharmacy Tech licences, a diploma in Business and a AAS Degree in Business Administration and i'm currently in school to obtain my BS in Business health Care management my goal is to be and Administrator in health Care.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I have the passion to help others, specially sick people. I think I am a great caregiver because I am compassionate with people, I have the patience and try to understand their needs to help them. I am a good caregiver because I have empathy for other peoples' needs and problems and I olso love my profession.

I love working with elderly people because they are so gentle, kind and grateful and I am able to give them the care and nurturing they need. It is gratifying to help those who need care and I am proud of the feedback I receive from them, that they really understand what I am giving them and then it becomes a team. I am a "giver" by nature and nothing gives me more joy than to help people. I am a Holistic Practitioner/Author, do speaking engagements about immunity and autoimmune disorders and cancer. I am able to guide my elderly clients into supplements and diet to support their immune systems and make them function and feel better.

I visited a nursing home with my grandmother in 1985 and have never looked back I think it's one of best ideas someone could have thought of Making a difference in the elderly lives I love the elderly, and I wouldn't settle for anything else

I grew up taking care of my mother whom suffered from multiple sclerosis and stopped walking when I was three. Taking care of someone that you become so close to gives you a lot of compassion and a full understanding on how much you impact their life by providing them with the best care possible. This is why I am striving to be a nurse along with why I love to care for others!

Hello, I am a part time Nursing student at Northwestern College in Bridgeview. I am currently working in a Rehab center in Palos Hills I have experience in Long Term Care, Rehab, and Assisted Living. I also have experience as a medication technician. I am CNA and CPR certified. Healthcare is my passion. Not only do I love bonding and caring for others, I love learning from them. I love listening to their stories about life, dreams, love, and I love finding their interests and hobbies.

My parents are both elderly and, as a result, my empathy and tenderness in handling and caring for patients is maximum. I am proud of the relationships that have been fostered from what at first was simply a job. I've enjoyed the ability to both learn and to teach during my home health aide employments. It is always fascinating what others have to offer, regardless of their situation. My sister is an RN and I often wondered if I had what it took to be of service to those in need. I believe I do and I try to bring out the best in others. It is difficult to maintain a good attitude when one is in pain. I know because I have been there. Keeping that in mind, I work to ease a patient's pain-level and make them as comfortable as possible. This, however, does not preclude any physical therapy that a client must endure. I consider myself extremely kind. I have a driver's license and Honda Prius car. I have worked with a client who was basically wheelchair-bound, however she did not weigh over 150 pounds so it was easier to help her in and out of the car and to chairs. Additionally, I love to cook and am particularly passionate in maintaining a clean and orderly household.

My name is Aleanna and I have a passion towards helping people and putting others before myself. I am studying to become a nurse, I have done caregiving for almost 14+ years now and it started when my grandfather lost his arm working in a sewing factory. I assisted with personal care, housecleaning and chores, grocery shopping, taking him to his regular doctor appointments. Whatever he needed, I was there to assist him constantly. I also have worked for other clients who suffered from Dementia and Alzheimer's, as well as chronic illnesses. I'm an extremely caring person with a huge personality. Love to help others whenever and however I can. I enjoy hearing stories and "well back in my day" comparisons to my generation. I am extremely reliable, trustworthy, and truly am only interested in helping those I can. I am an amazing cleaner, with an eye for details. Have a reliable truck so I can move large items like furniture to or from residence. Or drive them to their appointments or even just get some groceries. I don't have any actual "professional" experience being a caregiver yet. But honestly, didn't even think this was a career choice. But I have experience taking care of family members that have gone threw several different types of obstacles. From dementia to organ failure, and several things in between.

I became a caregiver because I have a very compassionate heart. I love dealing with elderly people; One, because they usually have a very interesting story that young people could learn from, and secondly, because I generally enjoy caring for people who can not do as much for themselves anymore. I love making an elderly person's day. Although some have illnesses that prohibit them from doing much, I understand that the elderly still enjoy doing small fun activities. A personal achievement that I am proud of would have to be making the Dean's List for both semesters that I was in college. I am a very mature and responsible 19 year old, who is now taking online courses for college. I am very bright, gifted, responsible, and caring. I have a heart of gold, and I love making people smile. I prepare meals, do light house work, cleaning, and laundry.
