Hello all! I've been in the field of taking care of people and animals for some time now. I've been passionate about the field since I was young. My father fell and broke his collar bone when I was maybe 12 years old. Being in a home with just him, my little sister and I, I had to step up and take over quite a few roles that I had not imagined doing at that age. Cooking, cleaning, giving my dad sponge baths as he could not lift his arm etc. Ever since then, it has been a passion of mine to help individuals in need, whether it's a human or an animal. I adore animals and have pets of my own. I pride myself in my bedside manor and ability to adapt to new environments. I look forward to possibly helping you or a loved one in the future!

Hi! I'm Kia! I'm a very lively, friendly, and funny individual, at least that's what my friends tell me! :) I enjoy animals and I'm current a student in university that's looking to help out wherever I can, which, in this instance, is with the lovely senior citizens and people of the community! I love music and food, enjoy a good nap every now and again, but mostly just making sure those around me are happy and well. As of now, the main things that's attracting me to assist those around me was the fact there's been times where I haven't even been able to rely on others to aid me; knowing that pain all too well, I figured I'd get back to helping those in anyway I can.

As for children, I have not only cared for multiple children over the past several years through an individualized schedule, but also in a professional setting. It's not only kids that I enjoy being with, but I also enjoy working with teens, adults, and the elderly! I have counseled at an 18+ special needs camp for the past 2 years and helped with special olympics groups of all ages. I am still active in these activities throughout the year! Saying this, it is unquestionable that I have the experience to care for people of all ages. I am a certified lifeguard and certified in CPR, AED, and professional first aid training. Additionally, I am 2 years into an occupational therapy degree and have observed at several facilities as reputable as Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, so I know almost exactly what to look for in developing and declining individuals and how to work on struggling aspects of their daily life. Finding a responsible and caring babysitter is difficult and I can assure you that I am both! Let me know! I would love to help your family grow!

I am an outgoing individual, so it helps me connect with residents easier, I am not just a caregiver, but a friend as well to my residents. I wanted to become a caregiver because when my grandmother was ill I always wanted to help take care of her and assist her. I enjoy helping people who are unable to assist themselves anymore. I was born with the passion to serve those in my care, providing excellent customer service. I define myself by my ability to make a positive impact on the lives of others, and found serving older adults and families to be the most rewarding job I have ever had the privileges to take on. I specialize in working with older adults with dementia such as but not limited to Alzheimer's Disease, using scientifically proven methods of care and redirection called the Positive Physical Approach. Part of caring for the person with dementia is the acknowledgment that the disease does not define the person, but he person has the disease, and it is up to me to do my part in working with the individual in order to impower him or her to be their best person and maintain as much independence as possible. This is essential to maintaining the individual's dignity. Previously, I was the Life Enrichment Director of Morning Pointe of Lexington Personal Care, where I partnered with the community and volunteers to provide recreational programs that met our residents' physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. I have experience working in a clinical setting as a CNA where I learned to be versatile, accepting different assignments each time I worked a shift. This taught me to be adaptable as I valued residents and their varied physical and mental abilities. With Goodman Care Inc, I traveled to different clients' homes that were miles apart, providing personal care. It taught me to have a strong clinical eye and communication being key when reporting change in clients' mental or physical status, to my nurse supervisor.

Hi my name is Layla I'm 18 and I go to Murray State University. I am young but I am a hard worker. I have only worked in nursing homes however I have had to deal with a lot of medical issues at home as well. I am very compassionate and love to talk. I love helping other people in time of need.

I am a very outgoing and friendly person who loves to talk to others. I have two grandparents with Alzheimer's and understand what it is like to watch a loved one suffer from this disease. I am dedicated to making their day better and being a companion!

I graduated high school with my CNA license and shortly after started my first job at Hardinsburg Nursing and rehab center. It was extremely stressful but very rewarding. I learned a lot from not only my co-workers but the residents I looked after. This job gave me the opportunity to further learn about medical issues and how I could help ease the pain or simply take their mind off of it. Shorty after leaving this job I started working as a caregiver at the BeeHive homes of Grayson county which is an assisted living facility in Kentucky. The BeeHive was a much more positive environment and allowed me to grow personal relationships with the people I cared for. The BeeHive is half the size with double the manpower which allows the caregivers to take breaks and actually get to know who we are caring for, their life story, their family and so much more. I love working with my residents because when I have some life problem I'm telling them about they have all kinds of wisdom to share.

Three years ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with Stomach and lung cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis, she had a stroke and was unable to do much of anything for herself. I took care of my grandparents until my grandma passed away last year. I realized that helping people was something that I really valued and took a job as CNA at the hospital and loved the work I did there. My favorite part was helping the patients to achieve things they thought that they couldn't by offering them an arm to hold onto and some encouraging words.

I love to care for individuals who cannot care for themselves. Caring for disabled gives me satisfaction that I have helped someone who couldn't do it themselves. I have cared for an individual who had a stroke and could not even get up by themselves. They could not cook for themselves. Gave me an honor to help them. I am a very compassionate loving person. I have a heart that goes out to help people.
