I am a very attentive person, full of compassion. I find it mutually rewarding to care to elderly and disabled individuals. It provides a colorful experience as I get to know each individual person. I have been providing services in healthcare for approximately 15 years. I find that it has been a very special time in my life. I try to give encouragement and emotional support to everyone. Patient, nurturing, attentive, responsible, positive, and dedicated. I grew up in Baton Rouge where I enjoyed spending many weekends volunteering and visiting nursing homes as well as spending time with my father's special education students. I am the oldest of 4 children and took on the role of a caregiver at a young age. I'm married to a Navy veteran and years ago in between moving from San Diego, CA to my husband's new duty station in Jacksonville, FL, I was able to spend several months living with, caring for, and helping my grandmother recover following a stroke. That experience really inspired me to start working as a caregiver in Florida before becoming a stay-at-home mother to my son when he was born. I then spent some years working at my son's school before eventually homeschooling my son. Caregiving has been continuous throughout my life and comes naturally to me. I enjoy spending time with seniors, hearing their stories, and being able to help make their lives better or easier even if it's just in a small way. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, spending time in nature, and quality time with my family.

I started out working as a Non-Certified Nursing Assistant for 1 year. After doing so, I decided to get certified as an Nursing Assistant through the Nursing home that I was currently working at. I worked for the Nursing Home facilities for a total of 7 years. I then left the Nursing home facility to work inside the Hospitals. There is where I stayed working at for 25 years. Over the course of my 25 years working in the Hospital, I was able to experience taking care of all age groups of people. My greatest joy of working in the medical field, is whenever I helped in caring for the Elderly population.

Hi. My name is Michelle Johnson I'm 25 years old. I've been working in this field for 3 years now. I have 2 boys a 4 year old & a 5 year old. I've always had a passion for the elderly since a child. I was adopted since birth by an elderly lady and I got attached to her quickly. She raised me since a new born and I loved the way she treated me as if I was her own. Which made me care for elder people more. I love helping them and caring for them making them comfortable as possible. I enjoy being able to learn the different type of levels of care. I love learning the different ways to care for the elder. Since I've been in this field I've falling in love with just being around the elder. they are always telling me keep that smile u have. I'm always smiling having conversations with them. Assuring them I'm always there to help.

I become a caregiver because I enjoy helping people. It brings my heart joy to be of service t someone else. I have been trained to with dementia clients by the Altizemer's association as well as through a company called Home instead.
