For the past 3 years, I have been taking care of my 86yr young Mom, who has dementia. It's very challenging, but to know she is taking care of, is a blessing. I'm a happy go lucky person and I always keep a smile on face. I love my job and love helping anyone I can.

I am an extremely hard working individual. I have always had positive relationships with all of my patients. I left a full time job to provide palliative care to both of my parents. I love to keep busy! I am a great caregiver, multitasker, and team player. I have flexible hours now that all my children are grown & my husband has demanding work hours.

I have always had a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I went from being a teacher, mother of 3, and working with mentally and physically challenged into personal caregiving. I feel like the my client is family. I look forward the new experiences ahead.

My name is Danajah Morrison, I'm 24 years old. I have been doing caregiver/cna work since I've been about 17 years old. I first started taking care of my grandmother and I pretty much just stayed in the field of helping other elderly individuals reach their independency goals. Some expertise that make me a great caregiver is my patience. I'm very patient when it comes to dealing with elderly individuals. I'm also reliable, dependable, and a multitasker. I'm PRN at a nursing home. I've worked at alot of homes with having one on one with clients. I can manage to watch more than one client, though I prefer to have just one. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the internal feeling of making another human feel human again. I love to make others feel whole, especially the elderly because some come from rough background and no family. So as a cna, it's my job to make sure they have a shoulder to lean on and someone to talk to. A personal achievement I have reached this year is that I made a year at the nursing home I'm prn working at. I'm located in Thibodaux. And I'm interested to work in areas near me.

I'm a licensed nursing assistant of 10 years. I've been a caregiver for 15+ years, from companionship up to managing home health company. My goal is to give good care and companionship to our senior citizens. I've always had the mind and heart to help others. It makes me proud to keep my clients happy and encourage their independence in the comforts of their own home, as well as provide relief for family members. I'm very knowledgeable in various aspects of healthcare (medical as well as non-medical) So, I've decided to step out on my own. Services I provide are bathing assistance, meal prep, light cleaning, shopping, errands, doctors appointments, vital signs, glucose checks, bp monitoring, medication reminders and set up, reporting abnormalities to physicians. I'm caring, trustworthy, dependable and compassionate. I have my own reliable vehicle. I will transport, if needed, for shopping, doctors appointments, companionship. I am an amazing person who loves what i do as a caregiver. I enjoy getting to know the client and help them with their daily needs.

I love to have conversations and talk, but I also love to listen. I have a passion for reading, telling stories, and helping others. I am extremely patient and compassionate. I am very responsible and always on time. I began caregiving when my grandparents both got sick. My poppa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's while my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. I moved in and took care of them full time and loved it ever since. I love knowing that no matter what people are being taken care of and loved.

What are your personality traits or expertise that help you be a great caregiver? I have always been a caregiver since childhood. This I know how to do. What attracted to you being a caregiver? It's apparent to me that the elderly, the invalid, the weak and vulnerable are our most underserved. They deserve the peace of mind in knowing they can rely on someone to show up and check on them, help them with menial tasks or just be a hand of help they can look forward to on a consistent basis. What do you enjoy most about being a caregiver? Being of service to someone else. What is a personal achievement you are proud of? Humility tells me that there is nothing I have done that deserves the effort of being extolled, honored or praised for it.
