When human beings experience trauma or severe life emergencies,it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. During these moments, victims, especially young and adolescent ones, are in great need of support and social empowerment. Each person's journey or experience with this disease can be quite different from the next person's, but there is one constant understanding that I had developed very, very early which is; to provide a person who is suffering with Alzheimer's Disease requires tremendous acknowledgement to his or her presence as a true human being. So patience with answering the same question several times over is a must. Always being several steps ahead with all aspects of a client's needed. I am not a nurse with a nursing degree but I will stand on my12 years of care for my beloved spouse along with my knowledge of navigating our city's healthcare systems that provided my spouse, as well as myself, with some of the most exceptional services and protections available throughout her years of receiving care; within the District of Columbia. There are several unknown providers and support agencies that go undetected by caregivers and their families. I am fully versed on what's available. I started when I was 15 and enrolled myself in an EMT course through my volunteer firehouse and have been nationally recognized as one for the past four years. Helping people has always been what I wanted to do, whether it's for emergency situations or day to day tasks.
