My name is Erica I am 25 years old and I am seeking a job in healthcare, I recently completed and received my GNA through the state of Maryland and I was hoping to be able to transition over from housekeeping into caregiving. A recent achievement I am proud of is receiving my GNA license.

1. The reason why I became a caregiver is because when I was a little girl I use to help out my disable grandmother out when her daily activities helping her around the house so I told myself that I when I get older that I would go to school to be a nurse 2. They are a couple things that I like about care giving, I like to help out the elderly because it remind me of me helping my grandmother out, I like to meet different people. 3. A personal achievement that Im proud of me going to school to become a GNA like I said that I was going to do. 4. Well I been doing home health care for about 8years now as of now I work for Hospice of The Chesapeake and I been there for about 6years I just love doing what I do. 5. I'm currently employed with Hospice Of The Chesapeake for over 6years now

I became a caregiver when i was the age 14 teen years, my neighbor needed help so I went down the street and took care of her up until she passed. She was the reason that made me want to become a caregiver. I enjoy being able to become part of somebody else's family knowing that I can help them stay in their home and be who they want to be and don't have to stress over the little things. What helped me become a better caregiver was learning from the people I take care of how they live daily without having help. You learn different things to help them be able to still be independent like they was before they needed the help.
