In 2020, I moved backed to my hometown after living in Mexico for three years where I taught English as a Foreign language. At this time, I was asked by my family to become my grandfather's caregiver after he was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. My grandfather has had a series of health complications within the last two years ranging from Mild Cognitive Impairment, diabetes, loss of mobility due to a fall, prostate cancer and a mini stroke. All of these have given me an abundance of knowledge on care directives and strategies to improve overall quality of life. My time providing care for my grandfather has brought back my passion for working as a Caregiver again. As I am a highly empathetic, patient and nurturing individual with experience, I am confident that I can succeed as a Caregiver for your loved one. My ability to connect with individuals and establish trusting relationships, along with my strong interpersonal skills, position me to thrive in this work field. I decided on health care because no other job sector allows me to radiate my true passion for caring for others. I was a programmer analyst for Keybank, sitting behind a computer just miserable because of lack of human interaction. I had my daughter in 2015 and the amount of time and energy I put into her care made me feel so amazing that I decided I had to do this the rest of my life. "This" being caring for others. It sounds so strange to say but my current residents say to me so astounded at times, "You know...you really care." I know why they say that. In this world we live in people do only what they have to and then they're done with it. I truly am one of a kind and my level of care is exceptional. I am thorough in my care and also efficient with my time. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is knowing that I made another person feel comfortable and took some of the stress that life throws at them away.

I'm a 24 years old rising senior at Wayne State University majoring in public health. I have 5 years experience working at assisted living facilities, nursing homes and private care duties where I cared for older adults and hospice patients who suffer from dementia, paralysis cancer e. t. c and needs help with daily activities like feeding, grooming, bathing, brushing and mobility. I have also worked at Henry Ford hospital as a surgical technologist for a year before I went back into caring for others. I'm compassionate, easy going, empathetic, altruistic, jovial, dependable and reliable. I'm looking to render my services to a loving family. The quality that makes me an excellent caregiver is my compassion for my patients. As a patient, it's sometimes hard to accept that they are not able to be independent anymore. My goal is to make them feel comfortable and let them know that it's ok to have a trained medical professional help them with their daily activities. My warm approach allows me to do my work without having my patients feel like they are a burden. I let them know that they are my number one priority. I am consistent with upholding quality work. Caring for others is what I feel I was called to do. I have been doing it for over 10 plus years with many different patients and illnesses. My mom has MS, so it has always made taking care of others much easier as it allows me to understand more of what patients need.
