Hello my name is Alea MachajewskI! I am 22 years old and have been working as a direct support professional for three years. I am a fun, thoughtful, and hardworking caregiver. I love to work with people and getting to know clients is one of my favorite things to do! I hope to work with people after I graduate and learn even more about the amazing ways to work better with others.

Being a caregiver is an extremely rewarding job. I have a passion for helping others and putting a smile on other's faces, and being a caregiver allows me to do both of these things. I am going to school to become a recreational therapist and will work with people with disabilities, older adults, and a wide range of people in that field. I believe it is important for older adults to have someone to interact with during the day to improve their mental health.

I am located in the Chicago area, but I have well over 5+ years of caregiving experience. I currently live in the west loop of downtown Chicago, and am also in the process of finishing my nursing degree so that I can be a licensed LPN ( License Practitioner Nurse) by the beginning of 2023. I have a bachelors in communications and a masters degree in leadership and management. I have experience with a variety of clients and have spent quite a bit of time doing cares for clients with anywhere from dementia care to hospice care. I have worked everything from overnights to 12-24 hour shifts! Very dependable and hard working! Love conversation and to make others feel happy!

I give a break to the primary caregiver by caring for their loved one (elderly, Alzheimers, Dementia, physically or mentally disabled, special needs.. any age: children, teen, adult). I feel like I'm a very calm, positive and patient person. I really like working with and helping people. What I like most about being a caregiver is knowing that I'm having a positive impact in someone's life. I'm most proud of just knowing that I'm trying my hardest each day to help people.

Initially I became a caregiver after watching my previously ill sister for whom i barely knew what to do. The idea of being unable to help ate me up as i watched her in excruciating pain. I decided to take the CNA class right after high school. Afterwards, I have been able to help so many people in need, for pay and as a kind gesture. It makes me happy to know that I can do what i would like anyone capable to do for my loved one. I have often been told that I am patient and compassionate. These words are enough to reward me more than money or material that can ever be offered. Often at times, after my patients have recovered, they would at times come back to visit and I am happy to know that I can turn someone's worst experience into a moment of laughter even for just a split moment. My mother is approaching old age and I pray that when we are not there someone will offer a kind hand. I do have experience with a lot of medical related scenarios, and i might be able to help out in cases of emergency. I am a third-year Allied Health major with a minor in psychology. I enjoying working with older adults which is why I want to be a Gerontologist. I am fun loving, easy going and very compassionate. I have been caring for older adults since I was 15 and it's very rewarding. I am happy to provide references for families I have worked for in the past

Ever since I was little, I have always loved to help others. I am caring, organized, kind, empathetic. I enjoy the little things and love to bond with residents, friends and family. I am a very hard and thorough worker. I applied to work at a nursing home my freshmen year of college, I am so glad I did because I never realized how much I loved it! I find working there to be very rewarding, as I feel the difference I make in their lives. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is being a friend to them, lots of times all they really want is someone to listen, or chat with them as it does get lonely. I also enjoy all their life advice, and how much we can both learn from each-other.
