1. I decided to become a caregiver after retiring from a corporate job of 25 years and my children had grown up and moved on. I realized I wasn't ready to "retire". The idea of becoming a caregiver sounded like something that would be an outlet for my "nurturing" nature. 2. Caregiving gives me great satisfaction and a feeling of peace and contentment as the things I do to help others means a lot to them. I love that I help people be in control of their lives while ensuring their safety, health and comfort. My personal feeling of well being increases when I am helping others. 3. Something I'm proud of is working with a lady who'd had right hip and left knee replacement surgery. She was fearful of standing, was not doing exercises and was dependent on her husband. I helped her to follow Physical Therapy prescribed exercises to increase her strength, confidence, mobility and independence. After 7 months, she could walk with confidence using a cane and do activities of daily living. She was even able to return to sleeping in her own bed which required climbing 12 stairs. 4. About me: I am a lady who is energetic, healthy, physically fit, very personable and I have a fun sense of humor. I am also dependable and trustworthy. I have two grown kids. I have a lot of compassion and empathy for people I am caring for. I am a great cook and homemaker. I have lived in the Portland area all my life and love it here. I also have a very reliable car!

I became a caregiver because I love helping people. I like caregiving because I can put smiles on peoples faces while helping them in the own comfort of there homes. One achievement that I am proud of is graduating in december of 2013 and becoming a medical assistant. I am a quick learner and i'm motivated to work.

For a period of over eighteen years, I managed a board and care facilities as a licensed Administrator. Providing care to the elderly, to me, is like taking care of my own needy parents reciprocating compassionate sacrifices the elderly had made. I enjoyed them with their smiling responses after each morning care as much as they try to show appreciation. My greatest achievement in geriatric care is receiving expressed gratitude and acknowledgement from the relatives recognizing my dedication and commitment to care. I recently finished Medical Coder and Billing in high honors. I love to give care to the elderly and would like ro have the opportunity to do what I most enjoy.

I'm very proud to call myself a caregiver, I became a caregiver because I love to help others and see them happy. I have very good skills with the elderly, I'm a fast learner hard worker always on time and love to see my clients happy and keep them at ease. I started care giving about 12 years ago with my father in law who had demeta. It was an honner to be able to feed and play with him.. i have such a big heart that shines threw my smile and my actions. Older people just love my personality. They just grow to really love me because of how comforting to them. As well is knowing the safety. So I have alot of experience with bathing,cleaning,erronds,shopping,as well as cooking,and my personal business in housekeeping, i do anything and do it well.right now im going to school in the medical field,and need some side work, i have transportation, references,and almost certified. Everyone has their own opinion of why or what makes them a great caregiver apart from others, well mines is pretty simple... I'm a great caregiver because I do just that "GIVE", whether it's my undivided attention to the person I'm there to care for or simply the care for watering their flowers. My care for my clients have always been above and beyond measures. I don't only like the role I play I take my role as a caregiver very serious.
