Aloha! Although I volunteered out of necessity, while caring for my grandparents, I got a lot of joy seeing them happy and easing their pains in their years of decline. I gave me comfort to know I could help them work through an already frightening and frustrating time. When I had my own children, I found a similar joy in helping them through daily life. Its wonderful being there for people in need, even if they don't know exactly how much you do(how it often is with children haha). I'm very proud of how my two happy, healthy kids are growing and my progress on my degree.

My personal achievement is attending school for nursing so I will be able to continue to help others in need.

I am 27 years young. I have been a caretaker most of my life it feels like. From 9 years old I took care of my mother who was burned over 76% of her body. Then my grandmother became ill and we could not put her in a home so I came home from college and for two years took care of her 24/7. She had a bleed on the brain,dementia and she was also super aggressive. I got her up in the mornings and gave her a bath, brushed her hair, and teeth. Got her diaper on and clothes and had her coffee ready for her when I got her back in to her wheelchair. I feel like taking care of someone is my calling in life. Why not make life a little easier for someone else all while being someone's companion and friend and getting another member to my family. Everyone I work for has become family.

I am the owner of Nikki's Gifted Hands Sitting Service for about 3 years and I have been doing Certified Nursing Assistant for about 16 years and this is something I enjoy doing because being able to help someone really puts a smile one my face because I was able to help.

Compassionate, empathy, honest, reliable , patience, respect, & selfishness. My grandma was a nurse & later in life she had a stroke & heart attack. I would go & get her from her house & take care of her. Also my mother was a RN. I love working with the as if was my own family treat them as if it was you want to be treated. Knowing that the patients looks up at you & thanks you for everything that you have done for them & that makes me happy to know that I have done my job.
