To be a "great" caregiver you actually have to build a bond with your patient as well as others you are working for or with. Hint the word CARE in caregiving, the patient always comes first no matter what. I feel that I am really passionate about what I do and how I do it. I got into this field after my grandmother passed from Alzheimer's disease. There are ups and downs of course but that comes with a relationship. I just love to help in any way I can. Which is a facility for special and behavioral individuals. When i first arrived for my first day, i went in with the mind set of," this is just a job to pay for college". As days went on, i grew accustomed to an individual that had a very bad behavioral problems with trust issues to care givers. I worked extra hard every day to earn her trust . The moral of the story is , i learned when working with these individuals, they have people in and out of their lives everyday and it's not easy going through that.
