My experience as a caregiver has included private home care, volunteer hospice service, taking care of my own family members, and working professionally in a skilled nursing facility as an occupational therapy assistant. I love helping people reach their goals and accomplish tasks that are meaningful and important to them.

I am a great caregiver because I am positive, empathetic, social, humorous and attentive towards my patients. I am an active listener and make sure the needs of my clients are fulfilled in a masterful way. I am attracted to being a caregiver, because of my compassion towards other individuals who are in need of care and have experience working with a nonprofit homeless ministry which furthered this attraction. I enjoy most about being a caregiver is making my patient laugh and enjoy their present moment to its fullest extent. My greatest personal achievement is that I have been to over 20 countries and lived in at least 3 for a period of time.

I am a retired school teacher with 22 years experience and Class A certifications in all subjects(grades 4 to 8); with 20 plus years teaching science and health. In addition, I have a degree in Radiology Technology with over 20 years of experience in hospitals, managed a medical office and responsible for patient care. I am seeking a position as a caregiver, companion/assistant. I would also be available as a caretaker for a private property. My personal experiences in care giving include: 3 years caring for my mother until her death, 2 years caring for a friend until her death, and 9 months care giving for a friend until her death. My qualifications include: well-educated, medical experience over 20 plus years (classes taken for CNA), good listener, very organized and good at organization, attention to details, knowledge of nutrition and health issues. I am available for part-time work of approximately 20 hours per week: however I am not able to work week-ends because I have to care for my elderly father. In the case of a job as a property caretaker I would be more available due to this type of postion. Due to my educational and medical experiences, I work very well with others and patient.

I have been a caregiver since I was 13. My father developed a brain tumor and my mother developed cancer. They both passed away. I had my father with me for 13 years, and my three teen/young adult children all were born with a bone marrow failure syndrome and have multiple health issues. I am CPR certified. I have been a Lactation Consultant and worked as a CNA in home care as well as in the hospital and nursing home setting. I was born to be a caregiver. I am most proud of being a mother to special needs children.

My name is Jaycie and I am a 2019 graduate from Western Carolina University. I majored in Social Work with a desire to work in hospice care or with older adults. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Social Work online. This is a goal I have been working towards for a while and I am extremely proud of how far I've come and excited to see where it takes me. I am extremely passionate about perserving the quality of life in our older adult population. I am outgoing, patient, and I pride myself on my unwavering kindness to others. I have always enjoyed spending my time with the older adult population. When working at the nursing home I had many opportunities to interact with residents and it was extremely fulfilling. I love that as a caregiver I am able to not only bring joy to the older adult but also bring ease to them and their families. I would love to get to know you and your loved one!

I care about people. I am a people person. I have the client's best interest at heart. I had worked for Transylvania Regional Hospital for nearly 15 years when the economy forced them to lay off 38 of us aides who were "Home Health Aides" out in Transylvania and Henderson counties. I was a prn aide, working an average of 10 to 30 hours per week, depending on the need of TRH. I cared for a variety of patients around both counties. My duties included total patient care, including baths, skin care and monitoring, taking vital signs, monitoring blood sugar, meal preparation, light housekeeping and grocery shopping. I have been an LPN charge nurse and CNA/Companion for 20 years. I was raised by a very exceptional loving grandmother which developed a love of the elderly in me. I really enjoy the work I do now as a one on one companion and caregiver. It has meant the most to me that clients have confided to me that their lives were lonely and going nowhere until we developed a helping relationship with enjoyable social interchanges like conversation and games and other interventions to nurture memory and mood.

In home health care provides me, population diversification and participation in someone' s recovery or palliative care that brings a sense of importance to this career. Also the continuous necessity for caregivers and nurse assistants ( CNAs) gives this field job security. I have enjoyed the majority of patients,/clients, in this field. Achievements involve saving lives. For example, recognizing symptoms of sepsis, a potentially fatal condition or pneumonia.
