Since I've been old enough to do so, I've assisted my mother with my father's care because he's a very proud and private man who only trusts the two of us. My father is a Purple Heart awarded Vietnam Veteran who was wounded in combat. He suffers from PTSD, among several other medical conditions. It is and has always been my pleasure to be a help to my parents, as they've always been a help to me. Though I may be a caregiver in many respects, the love and care that I have for my family doesn't make my role seem burdensome at all.
