My name is Kristen and I have 6 years experience working in a special education classroom. I also worked for two years at a disability agency caring for an individual in his home. Finally, I have 3 years experience at an adult day facility. These positions have taught me to be patient, compassionate and attentive. I am very adaptable to situations and accommodate changes and needs well. Starting work at the adult day facility really pushed me to be motivated helping others and being a caregiver. I find joy in being a part of helping another individual. I am proud of turning an uncontrollable student into one of the model students. I was determined to find out the reasoning of the behaviors which turned out to be a communication issue. Once I programmed his device used as a talker behaviors decreased dramatically. I am determined to find solutions to better the life of those I serve.

I am a compassionate person. My goal is to make people as comfortable and as happy as they can be in a hard situation. I am a college student majoring in psychology. After I graduate, I plan to go to medical school. I have had a lot of surgeries myself, so I understand what it is like to be struggling emotionally and physically. I am a certified wilderness first responder as well as CPR/ first aid certified.

I am a very upbeat and helpful caregiver. I provide culinary services such as grocery shopping, cooking, and assisting clients with their meals. I offer companionship and help with small things around the house that clients would normally struggle with. I'm very patient which in return allows for my clients to feel comfortable and at ease. *take a blood pressure a handle a Parkinson's disease for me is my tough patient coz you need to put your attention to him/her 24hours because the patient itself cannot control this disease. * for me the salary because it is the reason why you're working too and i love to take care of people even its not part of our family but you know its overwhelming to help others and it feels good to you because for me caregiving is a very tough job cause your taking care of a human being, a living thing so you need to be attentive and smart and especially you have a knowledge on how to apply your learnings to your case on the patient it needs a caregiver who knows the job. * giving a hope to an old person who accepts their deaths, and make them smile and happy . * for me giving a hope to a 99 years old patient, that he's still young an can definitely survive another 50 years. I am a college student working towards my Bachelor's degree in nursing. One area of nursing that interests me that I can see myself going into is home health care. I like being a caregiver because it allows me the opportunity to build a trusting relationship with the client and their family. I enjoy learning from others and being able to encourage and support those who need it most.

Hi! My name is Hannah and helping others is my passion. Currently I am studying to become a Physician Assistant at North Dakota State University, so caregiving is going to be a major part of my future. Some things that make me a good caregiver and hopefully a good fit for your family are, I am reliable, hardworking, compassionate, flexible, patient, and have a good understanding for medical knowledge from many classes I have taken. I am able to communicate well with families in order to keep everyone on the same page as well as lessen confusion. In my current job as a caregiver this set of skills has made me a good fit for their family. What first attracted me to caregiving was when I suffered from a sports injury and needed care for myself. This led to me being able to really understand makes or breaks a patient's experience and how being able to help someone through a difficult time in their life is an empowering and rewarding thing to do. I enjoy this rewarding feeling and the feeling of making a difference. Caregiving is something I want to do throughout the rest of my life.

I have worked with individuals who have Traumatic Brian Injury, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Sundowners, Down Syndrome, people who are Deaf, Autistic, people who have seizure disorders, nonverbal individuals, people with feeding tubes, people in wheelchairs, people with Multiple Sclerosis, Bipolar, ADD, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Mood Swings, OCD, people who are violent to themselves or others, people with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, personality disorders, people who don't recognize personal space, people who say they are sick or hurt for attention, Cerebral Palsey, Scoliosis, PICA, and people with intellectual disabilities.
