I became a caregiver because I love to help others . what I like about being a caregiver you meet new people you are able to make your clients/residents feel happy about themselves by being that person they can talk to and help them with there daily living because it has become hard for them. It brings me joy to see people happy and know that you are there to help. its more then just a job its a gift you are giving back to others this job is not for everyone but I'm Bless to say its for me. I am a 35 year old female who has been working as a home care Provider for 11years and I also worked for an Adult day program for a year 1/2 with adults with developmental disabilities. I'm a caring and respectful person I work hard I enjoy the outdoors cooking , going to church and spend time with my family.

My name is Valerie Howard and I am from Los Angeles. My parents where from the south, so I have some good values and home training. I have a love and respect for the human life that is greater than you would imagine . I believe that everyone should treat people with respect no matter what ones situation or short comings may be. I feel very honored to be in position to help add quality to someones life.

I am extremely compassionate, gentle, highly reliable and trustworthy. I started my career in geriatric caregiving after assisting my own Mom, who had vascular dementia. I realized I enjoyed caring for elderly persons. I have a great sense of humor, am educated and articulate and knowledgable about dementia (all types and phases). I have maintained lasting bonds with families of loved ones I have cared for and can provide excellent references. I enjoy bringing some joy into the lives of elderly persons and I take pride in my work. I have often stayedbeyond the hours I am paid for to make sure those in my care are comfortable. I also am very attuned to any changes in cognitive or physical issues with those in my care and attend to those concerns immediately.

I have a past history as a CNA, Medical Assistant and LPN. I am currently working as a Wellness Coach and Zumba Instructor. I start classes to regain my CNA this weekend 1/7/17. I have reliable transportation, a CPR Card and First Aide.
