Hi there, my name is Kassie Gallegos. I am 22 years old and I grew up with a grandfather that has alzheimer's. I have spent a lot of time with him and also caring for him and helping with daily task. This experience showed me how much I enjoyed taking care of people and just being there for them when that are having a hard time. I am currently in nursing school pressure a career that will alway me to to just that on a daily basis.

Hello, My name is Lupe, I am proud mother of eight beautiful children and five high school graduates. I am a very compassionate, patient and understanding individual. I decided to start working as a Caregiver because of my nana. I took care of my nana for multiple years and enjoyed every minute while she was with us. My name is Maria Dozier, am a 43 year old Hispanic educated woman. I've been married 18yrs and have been with my husband for almost 26 yrs. We have 3 beautiful children ages 25, 17 and 12. I live my life for my children and making sure that they are taken care of and brought up correctly. We moved to Santa Fe, NM almost 11 yrs ago. Til now I hadn't looked for work because I needed to be at home with my children. But now that their getting older I'd like to have a job. I have perfect transportation and am very reliable. Hello, my name is Angelique Smith and I am an experienced caregiver. I have over 5 years experience caring for elderly and also adults with mental disabilities. I became a caregiver, because I love to help others live life to their fullest extent. I love being able to help being there when they need help in their daily living activities and just sitting with them and talking about life and about their younger days. My name is Sherl Rehn and I moved to Santa Fe from Boston on September 8, 2007. I worked as a independent contractor and a personal assistant for a woman in Cambridge Massachusetts and other individuals in the Greater Boston Area. When I came to Santa Fe I joined Westminster Presbyterian Church and work for several of the church members. One of my clients had MS and I worked with him for a little over a year and until he need more intense care. I also worked with a woman who need personal care after a botched therapy. I took her to physical therapy appointments, to the store and did house and yard-work. In 2009 I became employed with Comfort Keepers as a Caregiver and eventually a Scheduler. I chose this line of work because I have so much compassion in my heart for those who are elderly, disabled, marginalized and disenfranchised members within our community and society as a whole. I love the elderly because I feel they all have an amazing story to tell and also have a lot to teach us if we would only listen to them. To me they are such precious individuals that live throughout the world. I took a semester off of school to deal with family issues and will be return summer semester to complete my final 13 credits of my Senior Year at New Mexico Highlands University. It is my plan to enter an Masters of Social Work program at an online University in the fall of this year.
