I have been in the medical field as a Nursing Assistant a Medical Assistant and a Physical Therapy Tech. I also took care of both of my parents until their passing. I am currently taking care of my sister too.

I am a medical assistant and have been doing home care for 2 years now. I do bring happiness to those I am working with and am very pleasant, concerned, reliable, friendly, trustworthy and dependable. I do have experience in changing, bathing, feeding, administering medicine, insulin, checking blood pressure and overall caring for those who need assistance. Prior to doing home care I worked part time in a hospital and in a dermatology office. However, I do prefer to give my undivided attention to one patient at a time and not feel rushed while taking care of them.

I became a caregiver to make a difference in a job field where some people lack the empathy, compassion, and the altruism that is needed. I am rewarded each and everyday that i am able to care for someone in need because I enjoy what I do and I love listening to and learning about all people, places and things that have impacted or shaped another human being. My most proud moment to date is the difference I was able to make during Hurricane Sandy relocating and caring for the Elderly residents that were affected. I am dedicated, diligent, selfless, and a lover of life. I am currently in school training to become a medical assistant and from there i will go on to pursue a career in Nursing.

My name is Riena Lamar, i'm 49 years old I've been caring for the elderly well over 10 years, I enjoy caring for people in general, i'm patient caring and I go above and beyond to make sure my client is comfortable, I cook will clean and run errands im currently registered with South Shore Home Care with the cdpap program for three years now, willing to get training.

I was a home health aide and now a licensed practical nurse, l have a passion for taking care of others, I am kind, empathetic, sincere, hardworking, can be counted on and good at what I do.

I have a lot of medical background and I love what I do. I'm a great talker and listening. If I'm able to I try to promote independence by either having the person assist me of even just letting the person be able to tell me what order they may like things done. Everyone is different and we are our own individuals.

What makes me a great care giver is that I truly care for each and everyone of my patients. I care for them like I would care for my own grands parents, I understand that my job isn't just cleaning/bathing/and feeding my patients but that am also there for their emotional support . The thing that attracted me to be a care giver is being able to positively impact not only my clients life but my clients family as well . One personal achievement I am proud of happen at my last job at the rehab facility there was one particular patient that was refusing to eat and refusing to be changed ect... I ask my supervisor if I could go in and attempt to feed her my self, we instantly connect she felt very comfortable to talk and laugh till I was able to get her to eat her food .

Let me start off saying I've been doing this for 11 years now. My mom got really sick n some of her caregivers was not so nice to her! So I decided to take care of her. Doing so I decided this is my calling taking care of the elderly is my calling!! I treat my clients with love n Compassion! I treat them like family! I treat them with respect. They make me part of there family n that to me is priceless!

I have a very bubbly positive attitude. I enjoy helping everyone, staying active and making a difference if I can. I enjoy seeing people progress and overcome their obstacles.
