I am a mother of 5 and nana to 3, married for 25 years, enjoy helping others with things they can't do for themselves. My husband is semi-disabled so this employment opportunity makes it flexible so I can get him to his appointments as needed. I would not be a live in companion but can set a schedule to visit regularly or a short time while family may be away.

I have been LPN for almost 4 years. I have worked with Dementia patients, skilled patients, geriatric and with mental, and substance abuse patients. I truly believe that care giving is my calling in life. I have spent 20+ years as an Administrative Assistant in the corporate world and for small companies. I started my career as a caregiver on a part-time basis and fell in love with the work. I knew that I was comfortable with the elderly at a young age, as they were always in my life. I am passionate about taking care of them, listening to what they have to say and making a difference in their life. I am a nurturer by nature and it is important to me to now share that gift with those who need it most. I am the youngest of nine (9) children so I have always taken care of my siblings children, my nieces and nephews. I have received precious memories and fulfillment from taking care of them. I my group of friends, I am always the one "taking care of things and everyone." That is just my nature. What I enjoy most about care giving is knowing that I helped someone and I was an ear to listen to them and take interest in them. I love to listen to what an elderly person has to say because I learn SO much from them. One of my patients required blood sugar readings and insulin. I learned how to administer both and I am quite proud of the fact that I have that knowledge and skill.

I became a caregiver when a family friend asked me to help her watch her Mother when I could. I enjoy being able to help people who cannot do everything for themselves. I am in nursing school and I will graduate with my Bachelors of Science and Nursing degree in May of 2016. I am a very social and caring person.
