I am currently a CNA working a skilled facility. What I do as a CNA is help people do their regular task while recovering. This includes toileting, showering, incontinence, personal hygiene and transferring. As a person, I am a very active person. I play indoor such as badminton and volleyball and outdoor games and I like adventures such as hiking. I work out as well to make myself fit to do my job. Nothing is more important than the care of the client. Here are a few traits that I also think make me a great CNA/Caregiver. Patience. Those who provide home care to others need to be patient. Being patient means that the person understands that there may be changes in plans, things may not go as quickly as planned, and there may be a little hesitation at times on the part of the person receiving care. Compassion. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness. It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. Dependability. Those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Trustworthiness. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person he or she is caring for. Hello all! I have been providing excellent care for the last six years. I have worked diligently to ensure the people I care for are comfortable, content, and satisfied with my services. I am currently in the nursing program at Mt.Hood Community College and I will be getting my ADN by Summer 2019. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to become a nurse so I am more than ecstatic to be working towards my goals! I am looking for a new job that engages my abilities and challenges me every day. I have a current CNA license, first aid and CPR certified through American heart Association, I am OIS certified, and I am a home care worker through DHS-State of Oregon. I have many trainings done through the Ilearn system with the State of Oregon. I am educated in many pathologies, both mental and physical and I enjoy working with many walks of life. I made an entrance into the caregiving world when my great Uncle was in need of someone to help him in 2011. He had Parkinson's as well as developing Alzheimer's and heart problems, and he was no longer able to care for himself. I was the only one who could be there for him and I gladly filled the role. There is such a great sense of satisfaction in helping someone complete their daily routines, and the bonding friendship that is shared is a blessing. I myself am a a great communicator and have a knack for interpreting needs and emotions, and relating to others. My great Uncle made me realize this and I successfully took care of him all the way through hospice to the end. I wouldn't take back any of the time I had with him, and look forward to building a wonderful relationship with you and your loved ones!
