i proud that i am a home health aid. because this title helps me to help other people and feel them special in their critical stage and make them happy.. i love to meet with different people with their different way to see their life.. i feel really good when people smile and people appreciate my work. i have all my clearence ready and up to date.. i can show it anytime any day after get a job..

For me, being a caregiver is very rewarding. I enjoy helping others and find it comes naturally for me. In 2006 my mother was diagnosed with dementia. Quick background, I was adopted at 16 by this awesome woman and it totally changed my life. It saved me. So my mom was my world and I was saddened by the news. Because she did so much for me it only made sense that I do the same for her. For the first 3 years my brother and I shared the duties with more of the personal falling on me as the disease progressed. Eventually she needed a to be in a facility where she had round the clock care. We drove from Delaware to Pennsylvania every week to visit and got to know everyone and they became family too. After she passed I found myself continuing to go and visit people and volunteer at Sunrise. Partly out of habit and partly because some just didn't have anyone else. I eventually had to go back to my painting business and take care of things. Fast forward to 2020 and the Covid 19 quarantine. While on furlough, I kept hearing about industries that were impacted by essential workers not making it to work and Home Health Care was a big one. I asked myself what I would do if this was happening when my mom needed help. What if mom's caregiver didn't show up and I couldn't travel to help her? Sitting at home, being on furlough wasn't for me, so I decided to go back to caregiving full time and became an essential worker. One of my favorite parts of caregiving is companionship. Like I stated earlier, my mom adopted me when I was 16, but I didn't mention that she was in her 70's. I loved to hear her stories about how things were back in the early 1900s. Her experiences. Hearing it firsthand is so different, and better, than reading about it. I still feel that way so in addition to helping with ADL's, I love to sit and talk with my clients and they love to have someone to listen.

Ever since I was a young girl I've loved to help people. My love and care for others has been a greater part of who I am. If my grandmother were alive today, you would hear my Nana say, "You were such a big helper!" I remember a time when I was 12 years old. My family and I spent a day in Philadelphia. They were having a 'Grand Old Time' event. Movies were a quarter. They were NOW PLAYING Silent Movies. I 'thrillingly' watched the silent film star, Bela Lagosi. Afterward, I headed to a concession stand for a hot dog. In line before me was a man with his right sleeve empty from an arm. The word 'veteran' came to mind. A real live war hero had just been given a hot dog and only one hand to work with. The server turned to attend someone in another line. This man looked to see what condiments were available. "Excuse me, Sir," I said. "Can I help you put something on your hot dog?" He looked toward my way down to say, "Well, I'd sure appreciate that. Thank you." So, I helped him with what he wanted on it, and I watched as his eyes teared with a grateful smile. "You have been most helpful, young lady, and you have no idea of how much." I replied, "You're very welcome, Sir. Can I help you with anything else?" He shook his head in a politeful way of saying 'no', and said, "I'll take it from here, thank you." To that I grinned and said, "Sure thing." I've been employed in the Home Health field for nearly 14 years. I've worked with the young and older alike who experienced neurological conditions, as well as, mental and physical challenges. And I can honestly tell you that each and every individual client has touched a very special part of my heart in a very humbling way that I could never be forgotten. It's so rewarding to know how loving words and heartfelt acts of kindness can make such a difference in one's continuous struggle of daily living. Personally speaking, I wouldn't have it any other way!

I take pride in being able to provide great care in peoples homes so they don't have to feel the need to go into a facility. I have been an asset to a great family for the past seven years. It's very rewarding to be the reason someone gets to stay in their own home.

To be a caregiver is to be understanding and have patience. I know that most patients may feel scared and uncomfortable at times from meeting new people and welcoming them into their home, but it is my job to make sure that they remain clam and safe. I have been a caregiver for my grandmother for about 2 years now and I must admit that I love spending my days with her. She has inspired me to help those in need and has showed me that I can be the uplift in someone's life.

I have spent over ten plus years as a caregiver; I have cared for the older, babies, toddlers, teenagers, special needs, disabilities and etc it is just something that i enjoy helping other and making sure that I make a difference in the life of others, especially being able to put a smiley on someone face is the best reward ever. And also makes me to be grateful for what I have.

I was introduced to care giving at a very young age my mother worked at an assisting living I would go with her to work and help out , I would bond with the elderly a lot I had my own personal relationships with them and it was always a cozy experience , eventually I would became a caregiver for my grandmother at the age of 16 I would get my grandmother prepared ( personal care denture , cleaning , dressing assistance , breakfast) in the morning for her day program before I went to school , After school the task would be bathing , dinner prep , bed padding change , medication management. I love care giving the help and relief I 'm able to give to families , the bonds I'm able to build. I believe one day we will all need help we may be older we may not but if we do require help at anytime we would want someone to treat us with care and compassion , I would want someone to take great care of my parents if I wasn't able to !

I graduating high school in 2012 , I wasn't sure what i wanted to study , so i decided to go for care-giving . I actually liked the job. it taught me a lot about myself on how patient i was and dedicated i was .I am a very patient person ,i am a hard worker .

I am a CNA/GNA med tech. I have been caregiving for almost 4 years and love what I do for a living.
