My profession and being a caregiver molded me to be a strong person and love the work I do even in times of heavy and strenuous workload. I have great compassion for older people and of course for everyone. Loneliness is the number one culprit of old age because of inability to do things or activities that they can't do anymore and by being there and showing genuine care it eventually builds up confidence in them and gradually have the desire to live again.

1. I decided to become a caregiver when I discovered I have compassion of taking care of people in need, especially the elderly. In the Philippines, where I came from, our grandparents live with us and taking care of them has become part of our daily lives. It is not considered a job for me but rather a day to day part of life. 2. I like being a caregiver because my passion of taking care people comes out naturally and not because I have to do it as a job. I feel like im home with my family when I'm with my patients and It boost my self worth as they entrust their lives with me to take care of them. 3. I have trainings form Kindred Hospital for Manual Resuscitation, Tracheal/Nasal/Oral Suctioning and Tracheostomy Care

I am a compassionate professional looking for caregiver position in a high quality healthcare company or private home in serving members of the community. My 10 year experience as a certified caregiver will allow me to perform this profession to the best of my abilities. One personal experience I hold dearly was when I took care of a patient who passed away peacefully at home by choice. During the last 3 months of her time, I made sure she was never alone and always had someone to be by her side. I became most of her support system as I became the listener and showed empathy for all her feelings and needs. I was there until her last moments and the family was very thankful for that. I made sure she was always comfortable and did not die alone. I believe that, with all my patients, I will be able to provide the support they need in good times and in bad. For the last 2 months, I took care of a mildly retarded patient who has history of schizophrenia and mild seizures. I was hired to monitor the patient closely because he is prone to falling as he has fallen twice a day. He has difficulty sleeping at night and I was with him all night to make sure he does not fall. In the two months that I took care of him, he only fell once and I am proud to say I helped prevent majority of his falls. He also did not trust anyone but me to give him a bath. The man described me as very patient.

I can say that being a caregiver is a fulfilling job. I can show how I care, my being reliable and compassionate to older people. I started being a caregiver when my father had Alzheimer's disease, so I decided to take caregiver course in the Philippines in order for me to know how to take good care of my father. It's not easy being a caregiver but to feel good that you help someone and their family is a great achievement.

I have 4 years of experience with Parkinson and Alzheimer's patient doing grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, putting in and out of bed for partially paralyzed patient. Being in the business of health care services for 12 years of taking care of mentally challenged individuals, working with elderly clients in home care and in home setting.

I took care of my dad on his later years and i still think i haven't done enough. So i went to caregiving to make sure i do my best to help the elderly like they are my own family. A caregiver role is to be an extension of the person i care that they maybe able to complete their task through me.

Before coming here in America,I took care both of my parents in Philippines for many years and i love doing it.When I arrived here,I was given a patient who has a parkinsons disease and I took care of her for nine years and after that I had different patients with different case.I love this kind of job and my employers love me.I am easy person.I had lots of patience.I helped them from their everyday hygiene,cooking for them,doing their laundry,food shopping,their medications,doctors appointments and many more.

I found that being a Caregiver is something that I loved to do after caring for my Dad when he became terminally ill with Lung Cancer. I cared for my Mom 5 years later when she was also diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
