I like to think that I make a great caregiver for many reasons. I know when to just listen, when to chit chat. I like to make sure all appointments are made and met with all the information needed. I have kept a running list of blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, oxygen levels, and temperature for the doctors as well as for the family information. This is also great information to keep in mind if your loved one may be getting ill or maintaining. I truly like to be able to sit with someone and make them feel as if they are just having a visit with someone that can help them as well. I enjoyed being able to do memory work too...looking through all photos and talking about them, talking about her history from growing up to now, working on memory games. The lady I took care of had dementia, but we made no mention of it to her, but made sure she felt as if her life as no different as it was before she had dementia. I enjoyed being able to take her for her weekly pleasure trip for getting her hair done and getting her weekly sub. I made sure that I picked up her groceries, air filters, medications and any other needs to even include mini blinds, pet spa visits. I made sure she took her meds and found a method that made her appear as self sufficient as possible. I also made sure to care for the dog, the dogs meds, water, playtime.

As a native of Charleston who works from home, I am looking for a way to bring in an extra source of income that will help support my family and will allow me to give back to the communities of Summerville and Charleston. While I do not have any certifications, during my teenage years I worked as a nurse's aid for my mother - helping with cleansing, transportation, and administering tablet medication for patients.

I come from a long history of volunteering from hospitals to Therapy Riding. My work experience includes various customer service positions as well as medical rehabilitation. I am responsible, hardworking and task oriented. I like history, music and reading. My last job was at RHA Health Services where I cared for disabled and mentally challenged seniors. I fed, bathed and rehabbed individuals there. I am quite domestic. I have my own car with insurance and a clean driving record. I also have a background check that is a month old.

My work experience includes: Companion, aide, personal assistant to clients with cognitive deficits as well as physical; planning, organizing, scheduling and monitoring of daily activities. Extensive experience facilitating personal development of clients; Helping them work through their limitations to enjoy adaptive recreation, athletics, continuing education, special events, and other areas of community interaction. Comprehensive care planning, including staffing, problem solving and monitoring of care. Networking with other caregivers, certified nursing assistants and home health care services available.

Motivated student willing to offer compassionate care to adults, children, the sick, convalescence, the autistic and mentally ill cases. I have offered care to autistic individual for eight year and now I am advancing my career in the health care. I willing to continue the provision of care while broadening and increasing my capabilities to provide care

Being a caregiver coincides with my belief in empowerment of the human race. We have to continue to empower each other to make our living here worth wild. As a young woman who wants to change peoples view about life I must first become the change I want to see. If I can show people no matter what the situation they can overcome my job here is done. I enjoy getting to know different types of people and connecting with people on a personal level. There is so much compassion that needs to be given and I believe I am that person. While experiencing different types of people I have found the most pleasure in putting a smile on a person’s face through my compassion and warm embrace. The award that I am most proud of would have to be becoming an honorary Junior Civitan member. Junior Civitan is an organization dedicated to making a positive change in the world through public service.

Hello everyone! My name is Hannah. I am an outgoing, energetic, friendly, and responsible woman who has a passion for helping others. I have grown up with a special needs sister who requires around the clock care, and then went on to work in dementia care facilities and respite care. I currently attend a University in Alabama and I will be transferring to Charleston in the fall. I am a psychology major, and plan on working with Alzheimer's and Dementia patients in my future. I spent years working in nursing care throughout my undergraduate career and decided to pursue my RN license at Winston-Salem State University on an accelerated BSN track, in hopes of obtaining my DNP in years to come. I became a caregiver naturally at a very young age for my sick Grandmother. It comes very natural to me to care for others. I'm patient and kind, easy to get along with, and experienced in different kinds of sickness including dementia. I took CNA classes in high school which made me want to pursue nursing in college. Due to a family emergency I had to drop out, delaying me completing my degree. Desperately want to finish, which is why I need a job. I don't want just any job, I want to do something I'm passionate about!
