I became a senior caregiver almost two years ago, prior to that I worked in disability for five years. Many of my friends say that I have a lot of compassion and would have made a great mother. My strengths are the ability to listen, be quiet, enter the persons world I am responsible for. I feel strong about acknowledging people's dignity especially as we age and become dependent. Over the past two years I have worked with approximately two dozen different seniors, all with different needs,and circumstances. What do I like about being a caregiver? Knowing that I am truly adding value to someone's life is one of the most rewarding experiences I can have and I feel very blessed and grateful for each of them. A personal achievement that I am very proud of is that I founded and community magazine while living in Australia that gives a good wholesome reflection of the lives and communities in a rural area. I sold the magazine to an Australian before I returned to the states and the magazine is still going strong! I am a Christian but acknowledge all religions. I am a very open hearted person, and would love to meet with any family who thinks I might be the right person to assist their loved one.

I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping others. My favorite thing about caregiving is spending time with clients and getting to know them as well as their family members. My biggest achievement regarding caregiving would be obtaining my CNA license at the age of 16.

I am a Christian mother and working with the elderly is the desire of my heart. When working as a caregiver, I often remind myself to treat everyone as I would want to be treated if the roles were reversed. I love the relationships as well as friendships made with my residents.

I became a caregiver because I plan on going to Nursing school next year and becoming a CNA is a good first step towards becoming a nurse. The biggest thing I like about being a caregiver is seeing my patients get better each day. I am very proud of graduating high school with a top 10 GPA in my entire graduating class. I have 2 dogs that i love taking care of and playing with. I have always grown up wanting to help people in anyway I can.

I enjoy being a caregiver and now that my youngest child graduated high school I would like to work evenings and weekends caring for others. I have spent my career working with people with disabilities and also people recovering from illnesses and surgeries. I feel it is my calling in life and enjoy it very much.
