I pride myself in showing empathy, compassion patience, attentiveness, dependability and trustworthiness to each of my clients I took on the role of a caregiver in 2010 and again 2016 when my own parents needed home care and worked at a local home care agency before working with Carelynx. I provide companionship as well as housekeeping and running errands for clients.

I have many personality traits that make me the perfect candidate. I'm patient, positive, funny, always willing to help, and love to help people. What attracts me to caregiving is I have excelled and learned so much of the importance of caregivers that truly care by taking care of my Mother-in-Law. I am so specific on how things need done and I also became an expert unfortunately caring for my mom before she passed. I love getting to know my companion, laughing with them, alleviating any stresses they are having, and letting them know they're safe and taken care of as long as I am there. A personal achievement I am proud of is not only caring for my terminally sick mom, but also somehow maintaining running her business while still always being there for whatever she needed. It was the hardest part of my life, but I was forced to grow up quickly to take care of her the way she had me my whole life. I dropped out of college at Texas Tech and put all my time and energy into her.

In 2007 I helped my Mother take care of my Father who had prostate cancer. During that time Hospice took over and I continued to help my Mother and sadly my Father passed in 2008. In 2017 after Hurricane Harvey hit Rockport, TX. I temporarily moved back to San Antonio. It was during my stay that my Mother's Dr., stated to me my Mother could no longer live by herself. And without hesitation I became my Mother's 24/7 Care Provider. And sadly she passed in 2018. I have a strong desire to care for those who need caring, whether by Companionship or as their Care Provider. I enjoy listening to their stories; cooking and most importantly seeing them smile and laugh. My personal achievement is that upon my decision to make my move back to San Antonio, I asked God what He wanted me to do? In His small quiet voice, He put it in my heart for me to go move home and take care of my Mother. And that is exactly what I did.

Hi, my name is Paulina Orellana! I feel that I am a good caregiver because I am very nurturing when it comes to those who are in need. I haven't had a professional or "real" job in the health industry, however growing up with an older brother who is cerebral palsy has taught me a lot. Seeing the time and effort my parents have put into my brother has made me grow to appreciate and respect all types of caregivers. I enjoy the feeling of knowing that I have helped someone and I also enjoy having conversations with a variety of different types of personalities. My biggest achievement is how I was able to grow and learn about my brothers condition and what I needed to do to help him. I graduated High School in 2013 and went on to further my education at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in December 2017. Since graduation, I have been living in my hometown of George West, TX. I have worked with many people since graduation and each position I held allowed me to strengthen my communication skills but more importantly, showed me the type of work that I am interested in, which is being a caregiver. As a ex psychiatric nurse assistant, I am very familiar with helping both male and female patients, and attending to their needs such as companionship, food help, supervision along with constant care. I am quite attracted mainly to anything mental health related, but this also falls under that area and so I am more than comfortable working with someone who needs me. I enjoy most helping people and making sure that they are okay first, and that their needs are met. A personal achievement I am quite proud of, would be getting through the intense training procedures that the mental hospital provided, and it's because of that that I feel very well rounded and accomplished within this profession.
