Hi My name is Genesis, I am a dedicated medical professional Graduate from ATI Medical Assisting School, driven and motivated in caring for the individuals in variety of needs. Rather it's transportation to and from doctors appointments or preparing a meal, medication reminder or administering. I have been in the healthcare field over a decade. I enjoy uplifting encouraging each and every person I'm assigned to care aswell as family members.

I have in working with seniors for over 13 years. I have had the pleasure to work with seniors from all walks of life with a wide variety of health conditions. I am a firm believer in enhancing the lives of seniors and not focusing on their limitations. I have experience in Hospice care, ALS, Alzheimer's, COPD, Deafness, Dementia, Diabetes, Parkinson's disease, Stroke, and many more. My experience includes any and all of the following: personal care, grooming and toileting, bathing, and all activities of daily living. In addition light meal prep, grocery shopping, accompanying and driving clients to physicians appointments, and taking clients to outings such as the movie theater, and the mall for shopping, or out to dinner. I have worked in all types of senior facilities such as independent living, assisted living, and on memory care units as a private caregiver. Furthermore, as a respiratory therapist, I have been able to use my expertise to provide oxygen therapy, and or nebulizer treatments.

My grandmother raised me with the "Treat others the way you want to be treated" mentality, to treat our elders with respect and to learn from their knowledge and wisdom. These traits are what make me such a great caregiver, I not only provide assistance to my client but compianeship. I listen and learn from what they share(honestly, the memories and stories are my one of my favorite perks of this job), I try to apply it to their needs. I firmly believe that since they took care of us, we should do they same for them.

My grandmother taught me everything i know, how to cook, clean, sew and be a respectful human being, but when the time came when she couldn't do for herself, due to health issues, i felt lost and confused. She was admitted to the hospital, then a rehab facility. Her caregivers and nurse didn't care how degraded she felt not being able to do things herself, there was no compassion, no empathy for her. So we took her home and cared for her ourselves. When she passed, i promised that i would extend that compassion to others. I became a Medical Assistant, started working for a prominent doctor, but it was fulfilling enough. Then i started to work for a mental crisis and drug rehabilitation center, i started to see thy at i was better at caring for those who could no longer do for themselves. A friend called, stating she had to leave her home health patient, would i be interested in switching fields. The day i started with that patient changed me, it became a passion. I pride myself on who i take care of my patients, watching them blossom into their old selves, from their experiences they share with me. I think I am a great caregiver, because i treat them how we all want to be treated, as a person and not just a paycheck.
