I've been caring for elderly for about 15 years. Started with my grandma and having her tell me thank you so much and being appreciative of the small things I would do to make her smile did it for me. That's when I grew the passion to care for others. I love taking care to elderly as if they were my grandparents. I always make sure I give it that extra 110%!

I'm very responsive to patients needs, sometimes you have to pay attention and observe, a lot of the time they either can't or won't Express to you what they may need or be feeling. I've always felt in my heart to care for others, it just comes naturally to me, id help a stranger. I enjoy caregiving because it gives me a great satisfaction to be in the medical field and help others when they sometimes can't help themselves, I've work with patients, dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke, Parkinson's, broken limbs, diabetes, M.S (multiple sclerosis) I've taken care of patients that have had hip and back surgery.,i know how to use a blood pressure cuff read and write log, empty catheter Foley, administrator meds as needed, bath, dress, i know how to turn someone who is bed ridden, i know how to transfer bed to wheelchair vise versa I'm a very quick study, every patient is different in their needs and care. I am always willing to modify to meet their particular needs...personal achievement I'm 57yrs and i still love doing this more than any other type of job I've ever had.

CG for about over 30 years. I help them with them (young adults) with meal prep, showers, feeding, light housekeeping, personal grooming, take blood sugar and pressure, basic ADLs, companionship, transportation, home care, except medication.

I became a Caregiver because helping others is what makes me, Happy. What I like about being a Caregiver is Seeing others "Happy", from a little Smile, to Laughter, Talking and Listening. Maybe just being there is a comfort, lending a Shoulder to Cry-on or a Helping Hand. My personal achievement is when you or your family member wants me to return. Then, I have done my job. I want our time spent together to be Special and maybe Make a Memory that will Last Forever.

I am a former pharmacy technician who enjoys working with others. I decided to work in the medical field because of my grandmother (memaw). She was the light of my life and when she passed away I told myself that something could have been done and she could have been treated better. I Want to be that person that others go to when they need help. I have always been that person.

My mom was a foster parent for 39 years. I saw how she cared for many children who needed the love and support of a caring parent. I became a foster parent myself. I worked at a group home for unfortunate children. As my mom got older I cared for her until her final days. I worked for an agency that focused on disabled adults. I became lead care provider, then licensed my home to care for 3 disabled consumers. I became a caregiver because I watched my mother give love and care to many individuals. State workers praised my mom and parents were very grateful. I love to make a difference in someones life. Putting a smile on a sad or lonely face, putting joy into a broken heart or just giving someone a chance to have someone they can depend on and trust. My achievement was having a young man in my home for 5 years who was disabled mentally with Cerebal Palsy who had been abused, neglected and deprived of a normal life and was only 90lbs. He would throw a tantrum every chance he got. Over time I watched this young man grow. He gained weight, began using complete sentences. He learned how to eat like a normal person. He began to call me mom. He would tell me all the time "thank you mom, you take good care of me." His outburst became less, his frowns turned into a smiles. He still has a long way to go, but at least now he has had a chance to love and be loved, he knows now how he should be treated and whats expected of him as a person.

My empathetic and compassionate nature I feel is what would make me perfect to help fulfill the needs for you and your family members. I have not been a caregiver professionally before but, I have taken care of a family member who had pancreatic cancer. Although, some days were not always the best for my loved one we always got at least 2 laughs out of the day. I know you're thinking 2 isn't enough but, the slightest sign of laughter means life is still happening and that's all I want for anyone. Trying to be the best caregiver for my loved one I read on everything I could find out about the cancer. I wanted her to know how much I wanted to understand what she might be feeling, and find new ways to accommodate life for her. I know putting your trust into someone to care for a loved one can be quite difficult but, I will be more than thrilled to answer any questions you may have for me and gain your trust. The best part for me about caregiving, is getting to know the person I'm caring for.
